I am a big fan of some of that alpha art.
Maybe that's because I have some of those cards, and the cheapest one I have is $600+ by now.
I used to have that Phage, too.
6th and 7th editions had some dope art too. I'd have to dig through and see what I got. I think 7th is the last set I bought. Except for a mirrodin deck I got at some point. That was a fun deck, constantly sacrificing everything and making opponents pay 1 life per sacrifice with Disciple of the Vault.
Ice age llhurgoyf was pretty cool.
So we're the wyrms and the slivers. That's a deck I haven't used in a while. Sliver Queen, ashnods altar and that one sliver that made sliver spells cost 1 less...infinite 1/1 sliver tokens with whatever modifiers you have on the field. Costs 2(-1) to summon, sacrifice for 2, repeat, since none of them needed to be tapped.
Edit: oh, and my favorite flavor text, Phyrexian Hulk:
It doesn't think, it doesn't feel, it doesn't laugh or cry. All it does from dusk till dawn is make the soldiers die.
