Damn Rev that’s crazy potent! I wonder if you could reach out to miraculix or whoever and see if they can give you the chart for stronger potencies

Can you do a serial dilution on the Miraculix test?

I was just cleaning out stacks of old plates piling up by my hood.
Guess this lc was a good one. I bet I’d catch a buzz from them, after 5+ months they should be pretty loaded. And somehow the caps look better than my tubs do.

They have been contacted and confirmed that you can use half dilution and double the results for more potent materials (or other appropriate inverse ratios). The US based company, QTest, added it to the instructions. Probably in the Miraculix instructions now, too, but I haven't seen those myself.

I had a similar result with miraculix and reached out. They said the color was so dark they assumed I hadn't properly followed the instructions and had "overcooked" the material. Anyways, I think there might be additional alkaloids present in the mushrooms that interfere with the results from that particular test because even though they are certainly potent, they tend to test around 2% (20 mg/g) with HPLC analysis, and based on experiences (1 g being quite profound), ~20 mg/g feels about right.

First crack at the wild Xico print. This cased tray sat for 3.5 months doing nothing, so I scraped the casing, dunked and re-cased. It's now throwing out sporadic fruits that grow in every direction. The mature caps have a nice wild-type appearance and stay convex, without curling up. Got a lot of work to do, but I'm pleased to have my first ever subtropicales fruits!

Another genetics of Subtropicalis. Substrate is pasteurized coir, straw, hay, manure, beech and pine shavings. Long and thick fruit bodies.

The same genetics on coir only substrate - short and thin:

And the same on coir + straw + manure - short but thick:

As you see it depends a lot on substrate nutrition!

great stuff ekabpils! looking good
yes, many contributing factors.
i have an observation to share. on my recent run i got tons of spaghetti growing towards the light source (window), looking all curly and twisted.
as soon as i have allowed for some more FAE, they began to grow straight up. like absolutely straight. not the slightest inclination towards the light remained. i didnt change the position of the light or anything else. just some more FAE
which leads me to the idea, that, when lacking Air they grow towards the light (which sounds like a reasonable and natural impulse/reaponse) but when there is enough air they will grow against the gravitational pull and ignore the light source, and in doing so maximize the spread of spores.
i will put up two pics showing this when i cut them in a few days

I'm going to run some tests using horse dung/coir substrate as well. Abundance of cheap manure available.

Yes chris77 - in all the cases I do a lot of FAE. If FAE is low they will go spagetti style.

This was all the same culture? Or multiple runs from one print?
They look so much better with the nice big caps.

That a good start and the no upturned cap is interesting. If these can just be made to fruit consistently you may soon have a whole different pheno.
