Right now I don't have the capitol to invest, which sucks because you're right about being a good time to invest. Silver is still a steal right now too. And i'd always go for physical platinum over stocks any day. But I get there is potential to make money there, I get it.

My spirit guide advises to strive for a reserve equal in weight between gold and platinum, as a hedge.
He argues gold has stability and platinum upward potential.
So, try to match a gold ounce with a platinum ounce.

Yeah. My life situation only allows me to own silver right now unfortunately, and not a whole lot.
I do have some gold though, about 9 or so grams in 1 gram bars, 3 of them pure .9999 canadian gold.
And I have zero platinum, except probably in my "black sands" from mining for gold, there is trace amounts of platinum.
Where I live , you can go pan for your own gold if you know where/how, but there's also other trace precious metals here.

Platinum is hard to come by, unless you're willing to pay a huuuge premium. If you look hard though, you occasionaly find some near spot. Bought my first 10 gram bar last week at $31 a gram.

$310/10gr is pretty sharp in VAT europe.
and yes in the US the platinum premiums are highway robbery.

Got a 14 gram 95% platinum wedding ring. And a 1978 1 pound strike in 95% platinum, from the Isle of Man, 9 grams. All at 28€ per gram. Once you've held platina, there's nothing equal to it. The weight it carries, just amazing.

I wish there was a crypto like PAXG which does the same for tokenized platinum that is actually allocated.
With PAXG you can buy something like $15 worth of gold, hodl to your heaerts desire and the bank vault hodl's the metal, till you sell it.
I deliberately spam PAXG in my sig because it allows a normal person to piggybank in gold, without paying $100 extra for a coin or a storage fee. you buy and sell almost at spot.
Its a step inbetween a bullion bank and not being hedged.

My question is, do you think it's worth it to pay up state mint coins like the Canadian Maple leaf 1oz or Britannia 1oz or just buy whatever random silver I can? I plan to buy a few thousand worth in the next little while. This is for retirement savings.

Government coins might be easier to sell, I dont know if its worth it to save a few bucks on generic rounds, I have a mix of both

I just pulled the trigger on ten 2023 1oz Britannia coins with the king on them. $363.80 CAD shipped.

Lol wow that’s a nice method of obtaining silver!!
My kids teeth have continued to fall out and it’s a silver maple each time. Thinking of buying 26 more just to make up for it, I think that’s how many teeth we have

It's crazie! It's a smaller bank so I dunno if that has anything to do with it but in a years time being there she's made 3 to 4 good finds not a big a haul as this was tho. I taught my wife how to spot em and she does pretty well it seems. Before she came the only person in the bank that has any Silverbug logic was the asst manager guy and he used to get it all each week. But now my wife sets her own lil road block! Lul
Those are expensive teeth you are a Hella dad!!

Average child has 20 deciduous teeth.
I have a boatload of silver rounds, I should start doin' that for my kid too! Maybe just the molars though
ashfiken, I'm surprised banks even have any appreciable amount of coinage coming in and out these days!

Dood tell me about it. I wouldn't think so much change but seems they get a fair amount of those dumb 1$coins and every now again a find like this. Apparently was in with a few non silver kennedys.. I think it helps being a small town bank for sure

I think that is appropriate.. Also only 20, feels like I just saved 6 ounces of silver
