Hello, I’m Dr. Steve Brule. The only Dr. The Shroomery could hire. I love the Shroomery; but people need to use more of it’s potential... Did you know that you can have images enabled for your peer reviews?
To do that go to your profile. Edit profile. Scroll until you see what is in the picture.
Did you also notice there’s a little plus sign that lets you like something?
If what you read or saw makes you happy. Then drop a like on there. Everyone likes to like things! You can even check who liked your posts. Ya just tap the little star. Then you can see who’s your friend. Pretty neat.

You’re probably wondering why you can’t put anything in favorites? Where is it? Well, it’s actually right at the bottom of the page. Let me show you. Now any thread you’re on. If you scroll to the very bottom of the page, you will see this.
This is how you can find out who the moderators are in this area. This is how you can filter out what you’re looking at in the thread. Such as images only. This is also how you favorite a thread. To view your favorite threads go to your profile. Scroll to the bottom. And click this button.
Now when you have a contribution to make. You don’t have to use the search bar and you don’t have to scroll back five pages in the pub to find it.

Hello once again. I’m Dr. Steve Brule. If you’re new to this site. You’re probably wondering what’s up with all these hieroglyphics?
Then you’re probably gonna try and save a couple gifs on your phone. And manually upload them to respond. Meanwhile, they’ve already posted five other sets of em. What the heck!? It’s not your imagination. They’re doing it so fast because there’s a ton of little shortcuts. If you copy one of those images. Then paste. You can actually see how to make that yourself. It’s silly fun.

 There are even secret ones!

So your brand new. You make some comments on a couple threads. If you don’t want to see the most recent comment on a thread. But you also don’t want it highlighted anymore. Just click the little file next to it once. If you don’t want to see that thread ever again. Double click it fast! It is now hidden. If you do that by accident, don’t worry. Just go to your threads.
scroll to the bottom, and click that button.
Then you can see all the threads that have been hidden and choose to unhide them.
You can also hide entire people.

Or click their name.
Go to their profile. Then you just click this circled button. And they are ignored. If you don’t want to ignore the entire person. But you don’t want to receive messages from them. There’s a button right there above ignore user.
Once somebody is ignored. You can’t receive messages from those people. Also, when you un-ignore someone. Those messages are lost. You can see your other options. This is also how you view someone’s ratings. Leave someone a rating. Or send somebody a private message. I just learned something from Mang!
Did you also know that when you ignore someone. Even their quotes that people use in their comments can’t be seen by you?
It makes for confusing reading. But you don’t want to read that trash anyways.

So here you are. You’re starting to get good at the site. Then you remember all of these comments that seemed completely inappropriate. You can report an inappropriate comment. Every section of this site has its own set of rules dictating how you can post there. If you find a comment that has broken some of those rules, report it. You click that little whistle on the comment. Here’s a quick breakdown of what all those little buttons on comments do.

But only Report one. Even if there are other inappropriate comments in this thread. It only takes one report.
I was sliding through a thread. I didn’t mark any of them as emergency. I figured it would go into a file where people would be able to look at them at their leisure.
Not so!
Every moderator gets a ping every single time somebody reports something. All of the moderators were getting hit with these messages. Until Fevers took me down.

Only if somebody has broken the cardinal rules of the site. Should you ever hit the emergency button. Hate speech, exposing someone in the anonymous, bigotry, threats.
Don’t make the same mistake I did. Just do one and done.

That is a very good point. You can even set the settings so that no one except you can read it. You can have people comment on it or not. When your first creating a thread push this button.
Then you can easily change the settings. If you want to change who is allowed to see it later. Don’t worry, you can change those settings whenever you want. Just edit the thread then push the button.

If you have a thread that you realize was personal in nature. And you no longer want it to be shared. Ask a moderator, and they will happily move it to the journal for you.
Did you know that if you have something in your journal set to private it doesn’t count as a post when you add to it?
There is a way to remove comments off of threads that have been moved into your journal. I am waiting on a sloth’s reply. So that might take a while to figure out.

But how long did it take? Everyone should know these tricks. Did you know? There’s a secret club, inside of a secret club, inside of a this website. Oh yeah! But you gotta have some serious experience. You can’t go…. If you’re reading this thread, your way too new to be there. This is forbidden information. Don’t even bother. It’s just gonna make you sad.
Maybe one day. Ultra cool people only.

Did you know that the Shroomery has all sorts of weird little tools hidden in it? There are individual threads for each. I think it would be more fun to have them all right here.
This list will be updated as I discover more of them.
Search Engine Tek You’re not using it right! Thread killers How many threads did you have the last word in? How many ban points do you have? I think Sheekle still has the high score. Ban Lotto This is the big game around here! Like scores This is the link from above, where you get to see all of your likes, and the grand total. Ban list You can even ask for a ban on yourself.
 Who is the most ignored?
Your address book. AKA Friend List
Display preferences This lets you change your theme, and a bunch of other little settings. Another way to access these two is by pushing the account button on top left of the page.
There’s some more tools to make your Shroomery experience better.

Have you ever been looking through your pictures? Just scrolling and scrolling. Then think to yourself. “Boy I wish all these pictures would just go away.” But you don’t want to delete em.
Well, there is actually a lot of options that I don’t think people know about in the pictures gallery.

After you open your gallery. Go to the very bottom of the page. It should look like the picture.
Then go to where the number one is. And name the new folder.
Then go over to number two and create it.
You can use number three. To check everything. Or you can go and individually select which pictures out of the list that you want to move.
Now you need to go to number four. It is tempting to go straight to number five. But you will have wasted all your time if you do that. You need to select the file that it’s going to first. Otherwise it’s just going to go back into home.
Now you can push number five. All of the things you selected have been moved out of your regular gallery.
If you wanna find something really quick in the search. Make a comment. This makes finding your stuff a lot easier.

Looks like somebody made it pretty far down the old the shroomery manual. Let’s build a still air box. First, we need the Tub itself. Now you can just buy a $25 tub. Then you would need a razor blade or a steady hand and a reliable torch. Then you could cut the holes yourself. But the results on that are varied. People have been known to crack the box. Which would ruin your effort. I prefer a premade. So for this manual, I’m going to suggest one. Get a hot glue gun for sealing this box. This tupperware lid fits perfect, 4.75 inches. You can cut a piece of silicone as you will be able to tell. One of the Tupperware I found was not the correct size of silicone gasket. But follow the link. You won’t have to do that. These fit perfect

With the added benefit of the two holes you can open in the middle to reduce air movement when opening and closing. Cheap plugs for the hole you’re gonna make in this SAB
The sanitizer
The rustproof raised surface by San Pedro Girl
Lead Shot for added weight
Keep the sanitizer at least 2 inches away from your SAB at all times. Or it can melt your SAB.
The main goal is sanitation. So I suggest filling a spray bottle with isopropyl alcohol sanitizing that. Then putting that inside of your SAB. That way you can sanitize constantly.

 1. Mason jars 2. Micro Pore Tape 3. Dehydrator 4. A Soldering iron
 1. isopropyl alcohol, hand sanitizer. 2. Gladware mini rounds 3. Agar powder, or block with grinder. 4. Brown rice flour, or grind your own with grinder. 5. Vermiculite 6. A bowl that can be sealed, held on its side and stay sealed. So that you can dunk your cake later. 7. A gaslamp. Probably optional but couldn’t hurt. 8.Inoculation loops

You have been here for a bit. You’re probably wondering what that swirl pattern is underneath some peoples avatar & mood.
Well that actually is your computer solving problems that are benefiting medical research. Anybody can get that swirl. Everyone should be supporting medical research. Let me show you how. So on your desktop. You would follow this link. Once the program is installed, you can set how you want it to run. Once you’ve chosen what you want to research. Let it go. This will start benefiting medical research in whatever area you want. After a while, once you’ve accumulated some points. Simply go to your profile. Edit profile. Then scroll down until you see Folding@home.
Then put in the username that you used for the set up. It will link these two accounts together. And then you will have earned your swirl.

Have you ever gone into your gallery. And then just wanted to go to the bottom instantly. But you don’t wanna scroll? Well, you don’t need to anymore.
There’s a button now included in the gallery for mobile devices only. That allows us to instantly shoot to the bottom of the page. It only applies to the gallery currently. Thank Ythan.
