Anyone have info on Thyroid and Mushrooms

I have a Friend I tripped with yesterday. She told me she has a high tolerance to mushrooms. I did 1 1/2 Gram of Nats and She took 2G. I was tripping balls and she barely felt it. After talking I found out she has had her Thyroid removed. Has anyone heard of this having an effect on tolerance? Couldn't find anything on the Web.
I did check ans she's not on any SSRI or other depression meds only her thyroid meds.

there is no connection, apart from the fact, that if she doesnt substitute thyroid hormons daily, her metabolism would be much slower than "normal" people, so it might take a bit longer to work. the serotonine receptors are afaik not concerned.

Pretty high variability with effects. I took 2g nats recently, and my son did the same. I was tripping balls and he said he kinda felt it. He has MY genes, or at least half of them.

This is interesting. I'm hypo-thyroid and I recently ate 2 grams and not much happened, the following weekend I ate 3.5 grams and got a medium body high. Recently ate 5 grams of Golden Teachers. Got a heavy-ish body high and saw a little bit of distortion but thats about it. Ea My adult son ate 1 gram from the same grow and said he got off pretty good. He doesn't have thyroid issues.

The thyroid regulates, and has a bit to do with every system in your body, including your peripheral nervous system. Having hypothyroidism can change the way that your brain works and send signals, so it is very possible that those with a bad thyroid, such as myself, can have a different reaction than those with healthy thyroid.

Mushrooms are serotogenic in action, so if a thyroid issue or medication was interfering with serotonin reuptake we would see them diminish the effects.
I really don't know about thyroid issues or their medications, but that a likely research path to find out if there could be a possible interaction.
