Coping with cannabis withdrawal

I've been smoking weed (and later hash) daily for about a year now. At some point, I was curious to take a break and see how I'm feeling. So, this summer I stopped smoking for a week. I generally felt just great, no cravings, regaining long-forgotten mind sharpness and stuff. The only withdrawal symptom I experienced was insomnia. I would manage to sleep 2-3 hours at night and maybe another hour during the day. That was annoying, so I decided to keep smoking, cuz what the hell, weed makes everything better, having to do it daily sounds more like good news.
Now, my friend invited me to travel to another country. Uh-oh. I'm not gonna cross the border with weight on me, neither am I to spend my vacation trying to find weed.
So, I'm taking another break to recover before my flight. It's been a week, and again, an amazing and unusually productive week. But hello, insomnia. Fuckin hell, I didn't even smoke that much, a gram of hash would last me a month or so.
I'm posting this mainly to complain, but any withdrawal insomnia tips not involving medication or such extreme and demanding practices as sport are welcome.

Try listening to delta brainwave binaural beats as you try to fall asleep? they're my cheatcodes for when i need to get into a meditative space fast- and it usually helps.

I find exercise really helps with insomnia. I know you said no medication but have you tried melatonin? Might help you out.

Make sure to plug the melatonin while masturbating for maximum results

Give chamomile a try. A natural, herbal insomnia aid. You may say that it doesn't do much. But it is possible to escalate the dose - this can be done quite safely, as it's a very safe herb all things considered. It mildly promotes GABA. I've been drinking maybe 3-5grams of chamomile per cup in my tea, but starting with a half of gram could work, and adjust accordingly.
While its effect isn't anything in comparison to alcohol or cannabis, I think it can be a mild thing to help push you into sleep. Sometimes it just takes a little bit of a mindset change to make sleep completely different. Chamomile can serve that purpose, activating some of the same regions of your brain as cannabis, but not in a euphoric way.
Give it a try and see if you feel anything.
Another, also quite safe, herb people have talked about for anxiety here is lemon balm.

Dude once at a festival we were all on molly and acid and people were coming down and just wanted to sleep and weed wasn't helping. So we packed a bong with some random girl's chamomile tea she brought along and sent it round. People were knocked TF out by that shit
Would recommend for insomnia

I've been smoking hashish everyday for like over 15 years. Quitting is unbelievably hard and I've kicked IV heroin and cocaine. Nicotine and cannabis seem to be the hardest thing to put down and stay away from for me. The worst part as you said was the insomnia but what made me go back most was the insane really stressful dreams I was having during the like 2-4hrs a night I was sleeping that would awake me up ridiculous. This time I want to try maybe CBD gummies before bed until I can ween off those. But anyway toward your point I've never really had any issues with vacations. I feel like you get some kind of vacation buzz and with all the activities and shit you don't notice not having weed. Maybe a vacation is your solution in itself where it will give you time away from weed and eliminate any temptation. Pretty much the best thing for being sober is to fill your day with activities and healthy distractions so that when it comes time to go to bed your out like a light

I find this to be true until I try to go to bed on vacation. When I smoked a lot and went on a trip without weed, I would not sleep well at all for the first few nights.

I wouldn't stress it too much, in my experience, when I travel I wear myself out so much that the insomnia I might experience at home doesn't really apply. Besides wherever you're going they probably have weed. I don't think I've ever been anywhere where they didn't
