Tell your wife, or the entities robbing your house, that we say hi!!

(If there is a story we’re patiently waiting around the campfire)

I first tried salvia in a garage that we had but did not use - the neighbors kept storing things in this unlocked garage, anyway I smoked a bowl of plain leaf and I noticed that some mazatec peasants were observing me from the shadows.

a few days later i went to the abandoned 3rd floor to smoke another bowl (we really had too much house and it was running down for a while - later fixed it and sold it.)

anyhew, both 1 female and 2 male mazatecs were in the room with me, and we just looked at each other and acknowledged co-existence in that looking glass version of the world.
then I came down the stairs to the 2nd level and kept repeating,
"that's astonishing!" and it was so wonderful to say it that I repeated it several times.

I do not think you can have that much tea and still go anywhere except the bathroom. (50 times the amount and still it will come on slow - it only really does this DMT like thing when you smoke it.)

yes that is one of the many manifestations of trails.

I was exhilarated and astonished. Not everyone takes to it.

many times the effects are physically pulling, jabbing or pricklingly weird. but usually visually surprising. often I feel flush hot. sometimes I feel like my feet are on backwards and it is hard to sit but even harder to walk or use stairs.

at least 8 times I did use stairs even though I told myself not to.
I am so disobedient and curious, as a 4 yr old child i dreamed I fell down 2 flights of stairs and my head rolled off, but that was 1955.

A fleeting one.
One that sticks out while the stoned sense of timing is really altered, and phrases of experience are layered over subsequent ones.

i've seen entities every time i've smoked DMT (only been a handful of times) and the one time i took ayahuasca 13 years ago.

none of the ones i've encountered have had bad energy. to me, they've always given a big brother or parent vibe, or something close to that. the most fun one was a big pink guy with a bulbous nose who played with me like i was some sort of kid. he made me laugh. and i'll never forget the first one i saw - a grasshopper headed mother who pulled all this black stuff out of my heart.

my DMT experiences have been really amazing and positive. my aya experience was difficult and frankly terrifying at points. it took years to integrate the experience. there were some really cool parts too. i am ultimately grateful for having been there.

reminds me of several salvia experiences in which I was certain that an auntie or brother was standing by and observing (sometimes critically).

always worth reframing,
interesting to consider default mode as ego, and I think not very off base at all.
kind of a smearing over time of what has been the most busy of overall mental activity tangents.

indeed,
this is the essence, however, they have no will of their own, though they may seem to have meaning - but the meaning is in context and continuity more than otherwise.

If you are not following the context closely, and you are not that familiar with the range of experience your own thoughts deliver, it can seem that autonomous or semiautonomous entities are influencing or trying to influence you.

How do you choose those?
I think you are not separate from the reflex mechanism

Choice is imaginary

Choice is a compound life experience equation. This may give a individual an illusion of 'reflex' or fait accompli.

you may want to take this up offline or in a philosophy and psychology thread or not, but I know of nobody who can actually articulate when or how they chose anything, so I really think that choosing is a fallacious concept, while navigating through a field of signs and signals, some familiar and others not so familiar, is actually what is going on, at all times, in the mind.

Studies have concluded that we have about 7 thoughts or "conceptual entities" a second, and there's multiple synaptic systems feeding these entities. Being able to identify one of these entities (thoughts) as a decision making point should be impossible, it's far too complicated and fast. But we understand that lots of things we can't see or pinpoint exist. What we can't control is instinctive base emotions, excitement, anger, lust, fear, etc. though we can control how we react to them, how we respond to that stimuli. By controlling the reaction we can control the chain of emotions and choices that we are making consistently. It's like controlling water.

"7 conceptual entities" is a curious choice of words for researchers. Like there's seven seperate threads of thought happening simultaneously in our minds, that could maybe explain how our minds can fracture and seemingly alive entities can exist in our psyche whilst the other entities observe it and give feedback.

they are talking about the alpha or theta wave event,
mental contents change at this rate:
I nominally call it 10 times per second or 10 hz,
but some measurements are 7hz (perhaps it is slower during REM sleep than while awake, or maybe it is always 6hz, but the interference makes it seem higher especially while awake)

anything between 6 hz and 12 hz works for me as the rate of signals flowing to the cortex (and back) from the thalamus during waking consciousness and REM dreams.

the entities in this case are neural activation configurations.
you could think of them as mandalas
they encompass all sensory and memory based mental activation.

OK OK so when I’m in contact with the other/entity/what have ya in these deep states, I’m just in contact with parts of myself that lay in wait until I perturb the right dongles in my dingle?

I would not put it that way.
A memory is like an impression. Impressions do not lay in wait.
However if something like that impression comes up in the future, then the impressions can emerge intact, along with a series of subsequent reactions,
including everything you know and have learned to say and do, which applies in this circumstance.

In any here and now context, some sensations and lingering mental content will be similar to several memories of other here and now occurrences (familiar you could say), over a series of subsequent  mind moments (1/10th of a second) some similar feelings and reactions emerge which are your thoughts and speech and action - your familiars you could say.

Some of that can linger for a while - especially if you are really stoned.
Several entities may appear and linger, and you may on behalf of each familiar provide the next gesture or thought that they represent, all from the same memory and perception process, without identifying with any of them.

I do think the coming home feeling does have to do with a return to more abstract, childlike thinking.  Return of beginner's mind.

the feeling of familiarity expands as a sequence of sensation and perception (i.e. mental contents) has more ramifications, or connections.
This is definitely an extension of the sense of having navigated home.

finding ones place (home) is probably the essential raison d'etre for consciousness to have evolved in living things that move (starting with the simplest worms).

Very interesting, so "they" are saying our mind automatically defaults/ produces/ helps create archetypes associated with fairy tales, religion, and aliens? That doesn't seem the most scientific explanation,  IMO. I mean why those specific things?

Do you have a link for that?

That's not what I said. A "conceptual entity" is just a seperate thought/concept, that's all. That's why I put it in quotations so it stood out as a phrase with a specific meaning.

Interesting that you extrapolated what I said to mean all sorts of specific things about brain function processes and archetypes though. :strokebeard:

you used a scientist's idiosynchratic term "entity" for "engram" which more widely is used (not that wide) to describe a gestalt of interconnected mental contents.
while SirTripsALot is referring to culturally overlapping archetypes, which are conceptual placeholders for which most people have some sort of mental picture about.

pretty good session - I'd say
nice report.
enjoy.

(on salvia the surfaces speak to me telepathically, the wisdom is really very tilted towards surfaces, however: Light and shadow. though it is superficial it is very compelling: each idea being a surface in itself, with an entire local physics)
