Lion's Mane question.
    #28494623 - 10/06/23 04:34 PM (3 months, 21 days ago)

Can anyone point me to a tek for fruiting LM in a Homer Buck from HD? I've seen somewhere you like drill holes in it or something and would like to check out a verified tek for it. I am really beginning to hate these expensive fuckin bags that are highly overpriced and would like to explore a way better way of sustainability and usability. The only thing I can think of that would be a problem is how to sterilize the pellet sub I am using but hoping maybe someone figured that out for me lol. I have a 23qt PC.

I do oyster mushrooms in buckets and have grown a lot of LM in bags.

I believe there's a supplement that can be pasteurized.  Right now I'm just pasteurizing straw and running it unsupplemented.

For LM I would use much fewer holes than for oysters (when I do oysters in bags the cut I make is three or four times the size I do for LM).

So, probably 1/4" holes, eight to ten inches apart instead of six inches apart.  This might go anaerobic though.  A smaller bucket (1 or 3 gallon) might work best.

I actually found a couple of teks on google, after taking from each what made sense, I think I have it figured out, from what I understand, as long as there are no nutrients and you use a high spawn ratio, you don't need to pasteurize or PC, just hydrate and go. But thank you for your input, I appreciate it.

You could also grow them straight from the glass jar. Easy for sterilization as well.
Theres some info in my signature.

Good luck!
