need water extraction for Muscaria?
    #28507962 - 10/17/23 10:38 AM (3 months, 10 days ago)

Hi, I recently came across some Amanita Muscaria (now chrysoblema) yellow/orange variant and have dehydrated/powdered/baked to help convert ibotenic acid to muscimol.

I'd like to try a little at a time to see what benefits it may have, without tripping. My question is for small amounts, under 0.5 g powder, is it necessary or useful to perform the water extraction step, rather than just imbibe the powder?

My understanding is steeping in 190f water for an hour extracts most of the muscimol, ibotenic acid, and muscarine leaving the flesh to be strained.  But is there actually anything bad in that remaining flesh, other than its taste?  I tried a tiny bit and it seemed fruity.
