Difference between asphyxia and hypoxia
    #28504887 - 10/14/23 09:49 PM (3 months, 12 days ago)

1. What's the difference between asphyxia and hypoxia?

2. What's the difference between suffocate and smother.

Furthermore:

I read a sentence once and have another question.

Sentence: U.S. President Joe Biden and Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who are now in talks over the possible full normalization of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, should condition any deal on setting aside Smotrich’s ambitions in the West Bank.

The original text is an article that I found by googling "Israel Saudi deal".

Question 3:

Does "normalization of relations between A and B" mean that two formerly hostile countries are now friendly with each other?

Thanks.

1) asphyxiation causes hypoxia. Choking causes a lack of oxygen.

2) smothering causes suffocation. To cover someone's nose and mouth forcefully causes them to die of lack of air.

3) not necessarily "friendly", but no longer hostile. Normalized relations generally means there is diplomatic contact--they are talking. Doesn't mean they are friendly, necessarily. But it's a step in that direction.
