theodor said: Thank you! Awesome up-to-date information that I wish I also had seen when I first started (recently). Would you consider adding a tek with poured agar to inoculate grain jars? I recently tried cutting up agar in a boro glass petri into tic tac toe and then scraping the pieces while holding the plate upside down above the jar. The next thing I tried is scraping the pieces into sterilized water and then pouring a bit into a grain jar. Remains to be seen if any of the two methods worked.
Hi thank you, If you check the links in the SPAWN section you'll see pasty's tic-tac-toe tiger drop tek which is more or less how I do my jars. I guess im not sure what you're suggesting beyond this?
The first method you mentioned sounds approximately like what I do.
It seems like the tek is meant to be used with no pour plastic containers, not poured glass petris, so I wasn't sure what I'm doing is allowed

Glass is not something I ever tiger drop with, personally I don't like to tiger drop either way.
Cut your agar into wedges and use the scalpel like a spoon as I mentioned. You can spike them and lift like a spoon.

oh yeah i see what youre saying. yeah theres a lot of ways to get it done but the principal concepts are consistent:
dont hover over open jars or open plates. get the agar in the jar.
bods agar tek also shows approximately what derray is talking about too. Its also approximately what i do. how you get the agar in the jar is less important that the sterile protocols that are consistent across each tek.
hope that makes sense.

Made some updates today.
- added a word about flowhoods/ffu. - edited the spawn section for simplicity - added chapter 7 'the final product' which includes info about drying, processing and ingesting mushrooms. - added a note about why most of us are dicks when noobs want to get defensive.

Just got done reading your addendums, thanks for adding this: "added a note about why most of are dicks when noobs want to get defensive." I hate reading the posts of people asking for help and then throwing a fit because it is not the answer they wanted. I appreciate ALL the help from this great community. This is a pet peeve of mine; I would receive this sort of thing when I was working. Me: the guy you pay to prevent and fix things " I am sorry that won't work" Them: "Can't you just use that part that doesn't even belong to this? I saw joe cheap guy player use it and said how great it was" And then spending the next hour explaining it, when if they did not want to cut corners, it would have been fixed by the time I am done explaining, and in the end, "just fix it like you were going to in the first place". If you know so much more than me, why did you call me. So thanks for that. Now I just hope they read that part of your guide.

Firstly thank you so much for this, great write-up! Can we get sticked by chance? I read the up to date teks post first but I really think this post is much more updated from what I can see.

I appreciate it. Its a thankless labor of love sometimes but our focus is on the medicine.

I also vote for this to be stickied, and second DERRAYLD's suggestion to hotlink your chapters index to the corresponding sections.

I've been looking at it as well but not sure how to create the index on the forum. Maybe if someone is more clued up on html or bb coding they can assist.

This should work: (didn't work)
[goto=here]Click here to go somewhere in post[/goto] . . . . . . . . . .
[anchor=here]This is the anchor text[/anchor]
No spaces in the "goto=" and "anchor=" values

Edited to show anchoring unique words. My original example anchored the word CHAPTER, which you obviously can't keep using for every section. So pick a unique word (intentionally misspell one if you have to).
I tried and fell flat on my face. Beef not gud at code.

Sorry, looks like it is not supported.
So probably the only thing you could do is start over, make the beginning and table of contents stuff, then make your sections separately as replies, then turn your table of contents into url links to those replies (sections).
