Partial/Annular Solar Eclipse in US THIS Saturday! 4

There is a partial solar eclipse visible in the entire US this Saturday, and a narrow band from central Oregon to San Antonio Texas will see a annular eclipse where there moon will be directly in front of the sun, but it will be slightly too far away to completely cover the sun. Also known as a ring of fire eclipse. This is the second in the the series of the three “great American Eclipses” that started in 2017 and will finish with a total solar eclipse visible from San Antionio to Montreal in April. This is the last annular solar eclipse visible in the US until 2048.

NOTE: THE SUN WILL NOT BE COMPLETELY COVERED AND YOU WILL NEED A SOLAR FILTER TO VIEW.
https://skyandtelescope.org/astronomy-news/observing-octobers-annular-eclipse/
On the west coast, 80-90% of the sun will be covered at maximum.
The in the east, Maine will only see 20% of the sun covered. NYC 35%. DC and Toronto 40%. Atlanta and Chicago 60%.
Denver 85% but if you’re in Denver you really should drive to the four corners to catch the full annular eclipse.
Timing: between 11:00 AM EST and 1:30 EST.

List of cities and EXACT times of full annularity. Keep in mind the ring of fire will only last for four minutes if you are on the centerline and less as you get away from the centerline.
You have to be directly on the centerline to see the moon perfectly centered inside the sun

For example, in Oregon anywhere inside the yellow lines will see the moon inside the sun, and the green line is where it will be perfectly centered

Of course the big event is April 8th for the last total solar eclipse visible in the US for a generation
Paths of the two remaining eclipses in the series. The luckiest place in the world is the town of Vanderpool, Texas which is on the centerline of both eclipses

I kept hearing people talking about that on the amtrak. A lot of people are getting off in abq right now who were mentioning it.
Also a hot air balloon festival today too i guess

In 2017 I remember stepping outside during the eclipse and it was eerie how the color tone of the grass and everything changed, and all the animals and insects paused their noises, like holding their breath, until it was over. Very neat.
