Is anyone else out there growing the “Mexican dream herb?”.
I have two of them. They don’t grow well where I am. But the experience from smoking the leafs is nice and chilled.

I experimented with it a tiny bit over a decade ago. Didn't make an impact on me. In the 10 years or so I've been experimenting, datura has been the most impactful on my dreams. I became lucid multiple times in my dreams which allowed me to appreciate some interesting mechanisms.

I find it very mellow. Doesn’t seem to give any bad side effects Like weed does to me. I can smoke it all day without any problems which I have been doing. The only problem I get is the smell when smoked. It smells like weed.

I grew some for a few years They grew fairly well for me, but I largely neglected them They took cool temps fairly well, especially if they were on the drier side. I don’t think they are truly frost hardy, maybe if it’s just a very quick light one will die back and regrow. Pretty drought tolerant too, they don’t need water all the time can dry out n sit for a few days between watering. Tho they will suck up all the water you give them if it’s hot out. Don’t need high humidity, my summers are hot and dry, tho I water regularly, and they thrives. More or less grow like a tomato. They clone super easy, usually can just stick them into dirt sand wet perlite etc and they’ll root I’m sure a cloner would give even better results
It tastes awful to me It’s probably one of the top 3 worst things I’ve ever consumed Even touching the plant my fingers get bitter Smoking it does not help All is bitter bitter But, it does do some stuff I’ve mostly only ever smoked it before bed, it kinda makes me disassociate from folks, want to go lay down, fall into a somewhat dark and eerie space… dreams become more vivid and memorable, I don’t tend to remember most dreams And, this herb reminds me why, my dreams are always kinda dark and eerie lol I choose to not remember lol Not my favorite plant to use
But I like growing it for the history and ease of growth
Hopefully that helps your growing experience Don’t baby it too much, it’s a pretty tough plant, or mine was at least

I've got one. Ive had it for a few months now. Ive been had lol them for years prior . they'd reach seed and I would collect or try to at least .
It's such bitter and vile stuff .
I tried to consume it in different ways . tea was intolerable . I thought salvia was bad . or cactus . this shit is so bitter.so finally I just made extractions and put them in OO pill s and swallowed before bed.
As a person prone to lucid dreams ( 1 to 4 per month every month on my teens and 20s without drug help ) I did find that it did help .
Because as I aged I had fewer snd fewer lucid dreams . and what they were!!!! Flying and fucking at will and shooting lightening out of your fingertips ! All as real as any waking moment .
Sometimes id do drugs in my lucid dreams and trip to insane levels and at peaks just wake up in reality .
The dream herb definately helps reach these levels these days. But my little plant will have a year to two before it's ready for me to prune for that fun.
Till then I guess.
Its certainly an overlooked enthobotanical . which I grow many . I think its probably a good chanupa mix candidate maybe .
Or if likened to have an extract and mix it with opium and syrian rue extract on some dry herb ?
Lots of potential if it's concentrated enough i think .
