Testing (ph) levels of casing soil? Anno, please dont move!
    #2849425 - 07/02/04 01:20 AM (13 years, 4 months ago)

I was planning on using the 50/50+ casing soil mix, verm. / peatmoss / oyster shells / calcium carbonate. I wanted to use calcium carbonate instead of lime because it sounds like a safer bet, but the tek is not clear on the ammount of calcium carbonate to add. When i posted a question about this, Anon said 10% calcium carbonate will be correct, but everyone else has told me that i must fiddle around with the ammount of calcium carbonite till the ph is normal. I remember from chem. class that 7 ph is considered neutral and non-acidic. So i guess thats the ph level i need, but i dont have the equipment - or the money to get tha equip. i need to get such an accurate ph level reading. WHAT DO I DO?

p.s. Does Anno just like to mess with me? or does he move everyone elses posts, and awnser there simple questions with a short and angry awnser that doesnt really get the job done. therefore making nobody else want to post a detailed response to an important question. i thought the point of this forum was to help people, not make them feel inferior!

I am sorry, but again you are posting in the wrong forum. This is the advanced cultivation forum, and this is not a question for this forum. Here are the rules.

As for the calcium carbonate, you would do good to read the Cultivation FAQ, particularly the Casing section, before asking redundant questions.

I'm closing this thread.
