Now I am also curious about higher dose Natalensis
Thank you my friend!
I don't think that's a high dose Nat for me. Last time I tried them, at 4 grams dried I barely had 30 minutes of visuals.
How much Semp/Nat do you take already when you mix them?
Well my first Nats were around 3x regular cube potency. Last batch I took 2.5g dry and it was pretty tamed so I guess the potency range is quite large
When I did semp/nat I did 1.5/1.5 g I believe. Next time I intend to match the potencies better to do a real 50/50

Melgo said: Finally had my first proper Natalensis trip last week. 6 grams dried, made a tea. I needed this trip.
2 weeks ago, during the SAME week I had:
- My telephone wire ripped off my house by a tractor. Damaging the chimney it and also a bunch of slates of my 2 years old new roof.
- 2 days later my house got broken in and robbed. We got some cash stolen, my wife’s jewelry stolen, my wedding ring stolen.
Timeline, counted after drinking the tea:
- +20 mins: first effect felt. No nausea, no anxiety.
- +30 mins: first light CEVs. Lied down, put headphones and eye mask.
- +45 mins: proper CEVs. Trip started.
In the first phase a blanket of neon yellow and green cloud was put on me. It was soothing and reassuring. It calmed the feeling of anxiety and insecurity of having had intruders in my house.
The second phase was all about beauty. I saw weaving patterns and colors of indescribable beauty. I needed it, I needed to see beauty.
The third phase was about gratitude for my family. For having my wife and my sons with me. Experiencing being a family.
The fourth and last phase was scrambly. I stood up, realized I was high as fuck, the body load was quite incredible compared to other mushrooms. And then it dawned on me that my wedding ring was stolen, would never be recovered and I felt deeply sad about it. Realizing how much this object, this symbol of Love for my wife meant to me. I spent a good amount of time with tears in my eyes, wanting so bad to buy the exact same ring back.
The last thought that came to my mind was this quote from Seneca (I’ve read a lot of Stoicism this past year):
Quote:
“Remember that all we have is “on loan” from Fortune, which can reclaim it without our permission—indeed, without even advance notice. Thus, we should love all our dear ones, but always with the thought that we have no promise that we may keep them forever—nay, no promise even that we may keep them for long.”
The whole trip lasted maybe 3 and a half hours. Quite long compared to Semperviva.
I really enjoyed the vibe of this species. Natalensis is a kind, chilled and comforting mushroom.

Damn that's a lot of shit you went through. I probably couldn't mentally recover from that for years. Glad you are okay and had a good time!

OK, so I feel like a cheater to be here, but wanted to try to ask you experts. This is the second prepared bag I bought. The first bag was Trinity, which was pretty straightforward. This one is supposedly P. Natalensis. It started getting all white and fuzzy almost immediately. Now it has started to fruit. When harvesting, what do you do about the white fluff? Just leave it?

You sure those are Nats? Can we get a shot of where the gills attach to the stalk?

They look like natalensis to me.
Just leave the mycelium, that culture isn’t producing the type of overlay that can be harvested.

I hate saying any mushroom is different then any other mushroom. I've ate them all at this point.
I will say cubes and nats have the worst body load out of anything I've ate. They are so heavy that the trip is not enjoyable.
Glad ya'll enjoy these but they are probably below cubes for enjoyment.

Same here, I think the potency range is quite large with Nats.
I'll try a real 50/50 Nat/Semp at some point. That'd be ~3gr/1.2gr for me then

Totally disagree but that's to be expected. Nats feel like I'm being hugged by the universe, I've actually spent multiple trips hugging myself because it just felt so comfortable.
Friends have also said they feel the body load is very heavy but I've found the key is to not sit still, keep moving. They have a real lethargy element to them, no doubt but it's important you move and it becomes energetic.

One of my tubs is getting blobs with technicolor dream coat metabolites. 1:2.5 spawn, grain was a lil slimey, sub was a lil wet, lots of fae. My searches showed that blobs can happen and are usually pretty strong, but didn't see any pictures like this.

What's up with that? bacterial response? mutation?

Thats how blobs usually start when using dirty spawn. Atleast for me. Usually the metabolites are more light orange though. That spawn must have been some dirty dirty.

Usually when this happens people think it's mycogone. Bod has a thread where he took some of the tissue and looked at it under the microscope. It just looked like dense hyphae, he said. He suggested that it's probably not actually mycogone in most cases.
It's probably a reaction to the bacteria. I don't think you want to eat it.

My Nats are being quite odd on agar…most people have talked about ravenous rhizo growth… for me it’s been the slowest of any of my cultures.
~1 week after 1 drop LC to each plate (streaked in zig zag), most colonies appear as roughly dime sized, smooth, contiguous white blobs. Did 4 diff plates so don’t think it’s mold- some slight blue bruising when I did first transfer around cuts.
The T1s haven’t really taken off either. Also have Hillbilly and Avery’s going on same timeline and both are crushing the bats in terms of speed and rhizo patterns (germ plate and t1s).
Further info- the hillbilly’s are ridiculously rhizo and Avery’s look very healthy as well. All used same sterile technique, same agar batch, in total ~25 plates made this batch and no obvious contams…
Anyone else’s nats slow out of the gate but picked up steak later on?

They grow normal speed for me. Whats unusual is the myc seems to almost be placed ontop of the agar. When cutting a wedge it will almost always rip and slide across the agars surface.

People eat the overlay because it's active, these type of blobs on nat happen often.
AKA has had some of the most ridiculous looking tubs fruiting from crazy metabolite clouds.
