Nabbed a bunch of russula and a bunch of lobsters today. I'm guessing they need to be parasitized prior to maturity? Would be cool to try and grow em

I have actually been brainstorming a project for it recently. People have successfully cultivated the mycelium of Lactarius piperatus on agar and in jars but I have not read anything about getting it to fruit.
There has been success with fruiting Lactarius deliciosus near host trees which is extremely similar to Lactarius piperatus. I have a L.C. of Lactarius piperatus coming in the mail. I also found a vendor that sells Hypomyces lactifluoruminvades mycelium blocks.
My plan is to find a spot near me with spruce and pine because they are abundant where I'm located. I'm going to bring a 5-gallon bucket slurry, a bunch of colonized jars, and some pasteurized hay, dig a hole, layer the jars and hay, and then pour the slurry all over it.
I plan to do it next spring because it's already getting cold so I don't think there will be enough time for Lactarius piperatus to establish itself well enough before winter hits. I'm not sure how to apply the Hypomyces lactifluoruminvades to achieve the lobster though. I'm hoping it will work if I just make a slurry out of that and spray it all over the fruits/ground.
I plan to document this project from start to finish too. so, I'll share my results next year in late summer.

I would see what happens if you introduce them to each other on agar, something tells me they need to be parasitized prior to fruiting, but idk if I can trust my intuition on that.

That's a good idea, I'll definitely try that too.
