One lone cyan and some tinys. Looks like I’m too early for this spot. With the forecasted rain, about how long do you think I should wait to swing back and check them out again? Looks like a second flush I think. There’s a bunch more pins.

My partner and I had another glorious day in Tillamook County! We were feeling a bit discouraged at the beginning of the day since we'd seen a few other parties who got out before us and it appeared to be pretty picked over. But like usual, there were still plenty to be found. We only found a handful of really large cyans, the rest were medium-small and hidden in plain sight. We also passed by hundreds, if not thousands of pins just waiting to pop after this next week of rain. We should all see some really nice fruits here in the next week or so💜🙂

There were also quite a few "true blue" cyans hanging out in the mix!

I found a nice small patch deep inside the bottom of a ferns browning/duffy leaves. I almost wasn't going to look, but I think the forest elves took kindly to our land offering earlier in the day. I guess it's not always what you can see, sometimes it's what you feel.

By the end of the day, we had once again filled our basket and ended up with a total of 496.82gs wet! It really felt like the mushroom fae were guiding us along our forage yesterday. I hope everyone else is having some good luck this season!:dancingbear:

Very nice.  Let me know if you eat the fern finds by themselves.  Make Note of anything…..  I’d like to see if others have the same experience.  Not many people are picking the trail near the ruins.

I suggest picking them out for yourself.  Don’t give them to anybody until you’ve tried them.  Have your lady as a sitter.

I will absolutely make sure to take note for sure! Almost all of my old spots back in Olympia were mostly fern finds and I always found them to be quite magical. I hope your findings lots this season man. I really enjoy reading your posts🤙🤙

Found a new patch of Cyans in a place way out that no one would think to look. 😁 Found a ton of Baeos and Stuntzii so far this year, but only one single cyan. Happy to find a patch after this wacky weather. There's a ton of babies still growing up, they're adorable. 🤣 Nice little first cyan pick this year, have a feeling this patch is gonna thrive.

Great finds man! I'm sure some more cyans will cross paths with you before the end of the season. Keep up the good work🙂

Thank you, this year's been decent so far. If you look further back in the thread, I picked a whole bunch of Baeos and Stuntzii, they followed me to the lawn at work this year 🤣

Got a few pics and notes from the past couple of days. Ill keep things simple.

This is the third time I’ve found this species, and im beginning to understand its quirks. Always find it in swampy drainage areas under cottonwood growing next to Inocybe species. Microscopy will have to wait in line.

Compared side by side with Inocybe.

Pelliculosa from Eatonville area.

Weirdo phenotype that is most likely pelliculosa

I always find bones. Got a nice collection going including a whale vertebrae from last year. Can even pull up reports from when it washed up. Haven’t thrown up so violently in my life when cutting it off the corpse

Mashell river exploring  (you can see MagicalKarma in there) and sunset from the evening fishing.

Another oddball from the base of Rainier at about 2700’

Pelliculosa from same area, gained elevation to about 3400’

Jumped up to just over 5000’ and found this guy. Doesn’t have the same feel as pelliculosa. Can’t jump yet but hoping for Silvactia.

Heading to my stomping grounds from last year this week for 4 days, so expect some coast pics on par with last year. Gonna be nice and comfy. Happy hunting

Having lived through an existence close to nature, one accepts the small and simple things as most important in life. Sun, wind, rain and snow. The sounds birds make, smells of fresh wild flowers. Love of all kinds, from friends and family, thy self and our neighbors. Beautiful sunrises to the darkest clouds dancing above in the sky. To forgive, learn, share and express. This is the only thing a man such as myself can ask for. What comes as the result is nothing short of the core of human existence, to truly live free in body and mind.

A few shots from around the yard yesterday and today.
I know this isn’t the same as going out and hunting, but they do surprise me in some of the places they pop up, and how much their character changes from one spot to the other.
Subaeruginosa

Cyanescens

Allenii I think

What's that saying? A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush? I'd say a shroom in the yard is better than a few in the wood😅

I envy the dedication it takes to accomplish such a thing. Quality work Land Trout.

O dang !!
You colonized up your folks’s place too , eh ?

I get to pet my young childhood demons a little every time I sneak a little spawn over - they still call weed “the dope” , just like the take home handouts from my elementary school DARE program explained , god bless ‘em
