i have read erowids thing and a few posts abotu it bust still dont have a vlear idea about certain things, mainly dose. First of all does age/size/maturity/season effect the amount of DMT? I am interested in smoking the leaves as sugested, is there an accurate way of dosing this? or just do hit at a tiem type thing? lastly is growing opinions. what is your guys favorite fert's and soils? Also is strong flouro light acceptable for fast growth? What about strong sun?
and in respect to the dmt content, what is the difference between Psychotria viridis and Psychotria Carthaginensis? which would you guys recomend for occasional trips and a nice lush houseplant?
sorry for all teh q's but cant seem to find the answers peace,

Lots of questions......hope I can answer a few.
I use a high quality potting soil with a little sand and some aeration material added. I grow mine outside most of the year in an area that stays shady most of the day. Part of the day it is full sunlight. They grow like weeds. I keep em moist and fert them regularly. In the winter I keep em in a sunny spot... but this year I'm building a grow room with MH lighting since I've run out of sunny places!
P. Carthaginensis is about 60% of P. Viridis.... but P. Carthaginensis is supposed to be easier to grow. I only have P. Viridis growing so I can't really compare.

I've came across several varieties and locales of chacruna. Some sources claiming theirs to be 10X the potency of others.. Never have I heard any positive reports about pyrollitic bioassay.

I'm presently growing p viridis, p carth and p alba. I don't know much about the relative potency but I've heard the carth is just as good as the viridis or the alba. I would not smoke the leaves alone. I've heard one or two reports that people got some effect from it but not much. It's better to make a tea with it and use a maoi like rue or caapi. Psychotria likes shade or partial sun. They don't like full sun all day. They can take temps down to freezing but freezing or below will damage them. They will die off completely at temps below 20. I fert mine with peters 20 20 20 and just give it some when they look a little yellow on the new growth. My viridis are producing berries now and should be ripe towards the end of the year.

How do you guys get your gardens to stay year round? Doesn't the snow and cold kill your plants off? I live in colorado, and there is no way i could keep a year round garden. Everything i want to grow is going to be inside At least that's what i think...not sure if it will work.

Felix, I think Ringworm said something about it on spf a while back but maybe it was someone else. It isn't supposed to be worth the effort to smoke unless maybe you used a maoi before smoking.
Keep your psychotrias in pots then you can bring them in during the winter. I live where it's warm but some plants I have to bring in.

Whatever Terence McKenna was using to roll joints with just gave him, and his comrades light visuals.

Can they be grown in normal humidity or do you have to mist them a lot? Are they relatively easy to grow or do they require lots of care? Thanks

I have never misted my psychotria. I do have high humidity here but even when humidity levels are low they seem to do fine. They aren't a fussy pain in the ass plant like salvia d. Keep them from freezing and out of the sun and they take off.

I should be getting myself a plant soon! I love the way you can take a single leaf and grow several new plants from it . There's something very cool about vegetative propagation...

If you are going to order caapi seeds then you will have to wait a few months... or years. I'm assuming you won't want to kill your caapi for one dose or you could do it in perhaps 4 to 6 months. Psychotria itself grows very slowly particulary if you start with a leaf. Buy the dried products and see if you like it. Then start growing it.

actually i LOVE the looks of the plants. it really is for that reason i am getting them, and for the dmt that i am getting them fast i dont mind waiting for the caapi to get large, i like watching things grow from seeds. i may buy plants i may buy seeds not sure yet, may buy both. i am for sure buying a rooted viridis plant though, i have read grerminating takes forever. so yeah, thats my plan.
k fuck i was too stoned, it was lsd i was reading about....ignor me.
nother edit: from a growing for ingestion standpoint, would SYRIAN RUE or CAAPI be more worth while? ie faster growing and/or safer? also what type of caapi is better? what are the differences? black/red/white/yellow?

I don't know what the dif is between the colors. I've heard there is not much difference. I have the standard white caapi growing and also have a cutting of black caapi. I'm happy to have the black just to have a different strain not because I think it will be so much better.
>from a growing for ingestion standpoint, would SYRIAN RUE or CAAPI be more worth while? ie faster growing and/or safer?
Syrian rue is very hard to grow. I suggest buying some seeds if you need a maoi. I don't know anyone who has produced their own rue seed though a few have plants growing. Caapi is much easier to grow but it has to come in during the cold
