B+ cakes refuse to pin
    #2848086 - 07/01/04 06:29 PM (12 years, 5 months ago)

Hi everybody, been a long time since I was into mycocultivation partly beceause of an eviction that just lasted forever, anyway its good to get back into the game.

so heres my problem:

I've got some B+ that refuse to pin.

the humidity is 99%-100%

they get indirect sunlight everyday.

they get fanned 2-3 times a day.

its been 2 weeks.

only one cake has pinned and it was a very low yeild and the second flush has no signs of arrival anytime soon.

I'm really anxious to get some caps as I am dying to get some spore syringes going for "insurence" purposes.

I even tried flooding the chamber with c02 for 1/2 an hour recently.

I'll post a pic if it will help anything this one is the cake that DID fruit.

5 cakes not pinning, 1 that did (bottem right)

up close and not pinning

Maybe try misting them with a fine misting spray bottle might help.
thats what i did to get my B+ when it took its time to pin.

That is why I asked what he was useing.

I can't see hardly any condensation and if you had 99-100% you would at least see it on the sides of the bin.I would put some perlite on the bottom.

The humidity meter said 98% before it broke.

The walls of the bin have condensation over 75% of the surface area.

75-85 degrees ferenheit depending on time of day.

air stone/air pump/filtered tap water in a jar.
+
tray full of soaking wet verm.

MOST appreciative of those helping me "pin" down the problem.

get that verm out of there and put perlite covering the entire bottom.Verm doesn't work like perlite.

I had some cakes that just refused to pin no matter what I did. So, I ended up spraying my chamber walls heavily and then two days later I had some fat pins. Give it a try.

so you bought a new hydrometer? are you making wine? or using it to check the water content of the cooling/charging system of your car?
I hope you mean hyGrometer.

What are your fruiting temps at??

Even though B+'s done need cold shocking to induce pinning, it might not be a bad idea to stick them in the fridge overnight, and see what comes of it.

You shoulda dunked your cakes. I'd also add some verm/coir to the bottom and top of those cakes.

In the second pic, the cake on bottom right....did you have a reservoir drilled in the cake??? where's the straw at?

I knew I spelled that wrong.

I DO make moonshine and work on cars and enjoy both A LOT but, thats a whole other forum.

the tank:

77.5 farhenheit (AVG.)

99% humidity

Your right I should have, I wanted to keep in simple, its been while since I done this.

no, just bruising, when I pulled 1,2 and 3 off.

ty again.

the update:

23hours later (estimated):

pinning on 1 cake, approximatley 4 pins.

more updates to come.

maybe lower your temp a bit with a cup filled with ice? if the temp gets up to 85 that could be your problem...i'm no pro, but the teks say mid 70s is optimum.
