Curious about your jars, is that perlite in the bottom? Whatβs your reasoning?

Just to suck up excess water... The glasses are pretty small (440ml) and my lids have holes for inocculation stuffed with poly. And the grain mixtures i use are generally tricky. This is not a good example, it is just what i had left over. With more of the smaller grains there is a high possibility of too much water remaining after sterlisation. Perlite solves the problem pretty well.
edit: Wet perlite on the bottom is better than wet grains that never colonise.. ;-)

@theodor - π€ thanks. Actually the opening to this giant jar fits my arm perfectly. Just a set-and forget. Even when I do tubs I'm too lazy to modify anything for fruiting.

Shoebox I,m currently running, that's approaching readiness to harvest. Loads of fuzzy feet at the moment in most of my grows, putting this down to MS or the mini heat wave we had last week, or probably a combination of the both.
3rd flush from a left over spawn pot grow. pumping out some nice fruit i think.

2nd shoebox finally pulled through
It was taking forever and I couldn't figure out why then I gave it some more FAE and they exploded over night
Still got some fuzzy feet so made the gap in the dub a little bigger but they are pretty much almost done.
