Opinions on homemade monotub

I just did the break and shake on my ShroomTek bag and it is colonizing fast. I'm thinking about moving it to a monotub when it is fully colonized. Opinions needed on my monotub. I drilled holes and put six stick on filters over the holes. I bought some led grow lights (6500k I think). Since it will be in a room with very little air circulation, I thought putting an air pump in it to get the air moving, would help. The lights have a timer, and read that they need 12 hours of light a day. Will the light being on the sides be a problem, or should I rig them up on top, to shine down? Opinio s and advice desperately needed. Thanks so much!

Forget about the air pump and hang lights overhead. I tried just laying lights on the lid and it didn't work well. Hanging above works best.

Awesome. The info I needed. Thank you! I may carefully cut some rectangular holes in the lid, so they shine down, without actually being mounted inside.

They're fine on the side the way you have them set up. No need to cut the lid.

Why the filters on the holes? Probably overkill.

It’s a classic monotub build witb large 2-3 in holes and either filters or poly fill stuffed in them. My first tubs looked exactly the same but with clear lids. No air pumps or interior lights either. They worked out decent but Ive since went with pasty’s ezdial tub tek and they work amazingly.
@OP I suggest if you intend to build more tubs to get some clear lid tubs and go with the ezdial setup. Ambient light inside the room will also be fine.

Will do. I'll check them out. Hopefully I can find a clear lid for it.
