Not talking about oyster.
I'm interested to find out about enoki and poplar Mushrooms, if anyone has grown them on coco or something that's not wood.
And if there is any other Mushrooms that you've grown that's not oysters on coco ?

Why are you set of coir? Hardwood fuel pellets are cheaper and you can grow a lot of different varieties

Not planning to grow on coco, it would be far to expensive. (Growing on Pine shavings)
However we struggle to get sufficient amounts of hard wood where I am.
So I'd like to make shore I'm only using it for those that 100% need it.
For example oysters we use pine shavings that's been standing outside for about 4-6 months.
But I don't know if this would work for everything. Along with this in my theory at least is if it would grow on coco coir it will definitely grow on these pine shavings.

I’ve done piopino in a mono on coir, it worked alright, not great but worth the space.

I’ve grown many different gourmet mushroom species on just coco/verm. Most have been done by reusing cube sub. Check out https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/27768853

I had no issues growing lion's mane and oytsrers on coco coir and I imagine that most other species should be able to handle it just fine. If my understanding is correct, coir is a pretty good substitute for fuel pellets/sawdust because it's a similar enough source of carbon. The ratio of cellulose/hemicellulose/lignin is probably different and I'm sure there are other impactful differences between coco coir and hwfp, but at the end of the day coir fills the Carbon requirement of the mycelium pretty neatly.
You could possibly run into issues with low grade coir that is too salty or something because it hasn't been washed well but I haven't tried it myself so I can't say.
Regardless, you should just go for it and find out, theoretically I can't think of any reason the mycelium wouldn't happily chow down on it.
