Really good stuff, love the twin peaks theme!
How it's unmade is great, "powerful fans keep them cool." lol.
Reminds me of Huggbees

Glad there was something in there for you!
And yeah I can see the similarities there.
"I DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT FUCKING HAPPENS WHEN WE TRY TO TURN A FIGURE 8 INTO A FUCKING CIRCLE!"
:lmafo:
"Why do you think she and dad have the same last name?"
"...Because they're married?"
Thanks, that was some pretty funny stuff
I've always really gelled with that sort of weird humour, check this for example:

^Those were each a good watch :yesnod:
Oldest Aliens was cool but DAAAAMN that light polarization one was something!
In terms of inspiration, I imagine now you're gonna have big fuckin tubes of sugarwater about the house with lamps set up.
Maybe even an ambient light system wherein you employ someone to twist the filter in real time in order to match whatever backlight colour occurs while you play videogames or watch films etc

3Blue1Brown done a good job in making it palatable for science-noobs, especially 3 to 6 minutes in- fascinating description/action that was easy to follow.
Really brought home how little I know or even wonder about light in a literal sense...

My offering is some insight to the OG Sampler: the Mellotron.
Always been quite into the sound of these things, evocative of a sort of warm, wobbly, hazy nostalgia that slight tape degradation seems to bring IMO (it applies to VHS quality or tracking too, I think).

Some further Mellotron watching if the mood takes you.
And for anyone who works with DAWs, there's a nice rendering of it on Arturias "Analog lab 4"

He'll, yea. Love the mellotron! I was thinking small tubes like for neon lights so the solution can be sterilized, and make little lamps out of them :royalrainbow:

That'd be cool :awesomenod: my mind first went to a handheld, oil lantern style instead of a desk or standing lamp.
:vaped:
Could set loads of rows up and manipulate the colour spectrum to some music as a visualiser.

Raw gems don't have a lot of value until they're cut and as such they act like liquid assets. This is because the price of cutting them can be undercut with cheap foreign labor like the lapidary factories in Vietnam.

Fossicking for gems yourself isn't profitable, you need a mining claim and a lot of capital to start anything. The real way to make money is to buy cheap raw gems, ship them overseas for cutting, and sell them at major profit.

It might cost $70 to cut a gem in Australia, but under $10 in Vietnam.

It's the same with opal, you could find a good single piece, but the seams are often 40ft below potch. The capital needed to invest in a mining claim is 6 figures. You can meet local miners and trade raw material for cheap, still thousands, then refine and polish the pieces and create a large markup.

A high quality $3000 raw piece can be sold for $7000 once polished.

This does take time and attention to detail to accomplish and is a higher value lapidary skill.

I think it highlights how raw jewellery operates as a business. I also am starting to believe that is is a good thing to have as much aware of what making a good business decision involves. To learn how a business operates, what practices they specialise in, and by what means they balance productivity.
