effects of microdosing on Alzheimer patients
    #28470813 - 09/16/23 08:14 AM (4 months, 10 days ago)

A friend has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. I was wondering if anyone on this board had experience dealing. I'd heard microdosing can help rebuilding neural pathways. Thoughts?

Iโ€™m curious if they have any pro active effects on Alzheimerโ€™s.
Micro or macro dosing.

Well I've tried to convince my mom but....yeah, it's their choice.

I would never ever ever recommend giving shrooms to a person that is already too far gone to consent. That would be a form of psychological torture.

Hi, thanks for taking care of your friend in this difficult time, you are a great pal.

Now from what i read Lion's Mane may be good for the cause, in one study researchers found that neurons exposed to lionโ€™s mane mushroom extracts were up to twice as long as those not exposed (Source)

Here's another document where you can read the effects of lions mane by the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (Link)

Here is one journal from  International Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms Volume 15, 2013 Issue 6 that goes in deep (Link 2)

And finally a journal that links mushrooms with Alzheimer where lion's mane is observed (Link 3)

Hope it help and sending the best vibes to you and your friend. Cheers!

Very sorry to hear that your friend got hit with the A-bomb.

He should talk to his doctor about Memantine, whih is basically taking 1-2 pills a day in the 5-20mg range, if he hasnt been put on it already.

It is basically healthier than a microdose of ketamine, and it does all the good things that an be expeted of it.

I'm on it right now, its kinda like a bit of alcohol but with a clearer mor organiozed well lubricated mind.

It has a ton of offlabel uses.

Memantine is firstline treatment, but yes, a true mirodose of psyhedelis would also potentially be helpful.

I'd also recommend researching into blueberries. Frozen, fresh, juice or extracts will work.
https://examine.com/foods/blueberry/research/

Besides that, if money allows, it might be worth looking into some of the Russian nootropics like P21, noopept etc. can help.

Also, it might be worth looking through this: https://www.aging-us.com/article/100690/text

Some of the initial reports from the stamet stack (psilocybin, turkey tail, lions mane, niacin) microdosing seemed very promising for brain health.
