You're good at explaining my point in different words.

I didn't say that, nor do I think that.
Generally, their paychecks for being a politician isn't what gets them rich.

So then how can you expect anyone to find a big time politician who is poor? What point are you even trying to make?

My point is that politicians have little to no concept of what it's like to be poor or even low economic class. Those that came from poverty seem to quickly forget it when they gain power and prestige and all the gifts and opportunities afforded then. They are completely out of touch with the people they represent. They don't live like those of us who have-not.
Edit: and that's glossing over bribes and underhanded/backroom dealings and questionable investments and lobbying.

So, you think that they only represent the poor? Or they represent poor and others but are only out of touch with the poor? Or they are out of touch with everyone they represent?

the job of a representative is to represent the constituents, that SHOULD be by the number of constituents.
but typically speaking they are better representatives of their own interests and ipsofactso their highest doners.
representing your best doners doesnt help you be a better representative for your average citizen.
the best interests of the average joe is to be able to live an increasingly better life without dipping too far into the work/play/home ratios.
but mostly what gets represented is the needs of big business to be able to use national resources to enrich themselves at the expense and misfortune of the tax payer.
and the very people who should be standing in the way of that are frequently facilitating it.
