How long for growth on agar?

I just put some old material to agar (48 hours ago) and am wondering about how long I should give it to see growth?
Spores: I live in CA so before trying to order spores, I am using some 2-year old dried material I had saved away all separately wrapped in foil in zip-locks with descant packets. I am using -Gill scrapings from 5 different caps on to 5 different plates. -A small amount of shake from the bottom of the bag onto its own plate. -A small amount of ground up material out of 4 different capsules put on to 4 different plates.
Agar: -I am using a malt extract agar pre-mix. 25g to 500 ml H20 (It expired about a year ago and I have a fresh batch on order to re-try) -A small amount of Gentamicin Sulfate powder in anticipation of contamination (again, also expired, more on order) -A small amount of corn syrup for dextrose because it was on hand.
What I am expecting: -lots of contamination + some mycelium to transfer from -because the sample set I am using is 2 years old, I am not expecting any kind of growth from the old fruiting body material, but I was hoping that kept in a cool dry and sterile place, there would still be some viable spores in there to start a mycelium culture.
What I have after 48hrs: -Nothing. Not even contamination growth. -On the plus side, that means my sterile technique is still good... -How long should I expect to wait for any sort of growth??
Will repeat experiment again when I get my new agar malt dextrose premix in. I am trying to avoid (what I have read to be) the difficult process of getting spores shipped out here...

Spores can take as few as 3 days to germinate in the best of conditions. With old spores it will probably take at least 7-10 days, but could take as long as 3 weeks.
I think you can get LC out there. The company Myyco (on the trusted vendors list) is based in Cali.

Message me if you want some fresh LC. You'll have a much better success rate.

Be careful sending anything out to such new members, the market has restrictions for a reason.

Iโve heard that old spores sometimes need to be hydrated a bit to get them going.

Yeah, that's true. I usually just put my plate on the heat mat I got with my stupid kit when I started, on a fairly low setting. This will cause some condensation, which will hydrate the spores.
I did this recently with some nats spores. First time I waited about 10 days without germination, then I did the thing to hydrate them, and the next morning I had germination. I did another plate, and this time I hydrated them right away. It only took 3 days for germination.
I had a similar experience a while back, where the spores didn't germinate for 3 weeks. Not until I took action did I get germination.
