Wow, the closest thing to a health scare ive had was when I did something to my back, the phone was on the floor and I bent down to pick it up and there was a crack, I couldnt walk without crutches for a week, but then it heeled up fine, but it was scary for the first day or 2, literally when I first did it I had to use the washroom and it took me 20 minutes just to make it from the living room to the washroom
I should be focusing on fixing my posture so it dosnt happen again, but I sit with bad posture all the time, I find it really hard to have good posture
I had to google AMA, the untied states is so backwards with health care, the conservatives in canada want to privitise healthcare here in ontario, yet "we" still vote them in

This was my second extended stay at this specific hospital. My GP thought I was having a stroke or brain bleed and called the ambulance and this establishment was closedt aside from the hood. Gave benefit of doubt because 'they are the leaders in health care,' And- 'we know how important family is, that is why we treat you as our own.' These are just two billboards on the main highway here.
Yes, as you have found out the healthcare system in the states is just so broken, so backward. Just one more industry primed for megalomania.
The ER was on point. And if it weren't for the intake doc indulging me and running tests I've been asking my drs to run for years, wouldnt of gotten these new findings and finally, a diagnosis. It was once I was moved to observation that several potentially FATAL mistakes were made. And I don't care if you're only a tech, i should not be instructing my medical team on how to place an IV. And i shouldn't be asking my doc of the day why an EMG wasn't ordered, and her response is to look at my file and say, Im not sure. That is fucking not good enough. I will stop there, they asked for a review and by hell they will get one.
What was the diagnosis with your back? Yes, its horrifying when our young(ish) body break down and fail, especially when there's never an answer for it.
Sorry, dr. Google gets a bad rep- but i went in because my hand was locked up. Many painful tests, 179 views of my bràin and spine, CT, etc.. and i get discharged with no reason found or improvement in my confition. -How do I not take my health into own hands by the few means I have? Can't wait to see the bill! But it'll be worth it, once those cultures the ER Dr. cooked and came in a week later I had my answer or at least part of it.. nothing will be official until I hear my neurologist confirm.
gopher actually thought of you this am. Are you into stamps also, or just coins?

I dont know what was wrong with my back, I think a disc was swallown or something, I went to a chriopracter 4 or 5 times, seemed pretty useless, if I ever have back troubles again I'll go to a different chriopracter
I always sit with bad posture so I assume that was the cause

My upper back is usually at least somewhat sore from work but less so than before. I think it's mostly that the muscles between my shoulder blades weren't very strong before I started and now I use them all the time.

Massage therapy and PT is where it's at for those soft tissue injuries. I took a bad fall off of a horse a few years ago and fucked up my back something fierce, the massage was what really seemed to help the most in particular.
Core exercises and stretching are great too tho.

Dude when you first posted this stuff I thought holy shit this dude has ALS. Those hand synonyms are really ominous. Nice to hear that whatever is going on is anything else.

No stamps, the lady who boards a horse at my house, her mother collect stamps, I ordered like a 500 stamp lot off ebay for $8 for her, I looked through all the stamps but I didnt really want to keep any, specifically I looked for a stamp with a dog but there were none

Considering you're often hunched over your metal detector, you would need a multifaceted plan of attack if wanting/able to fix it.
Core and back strengthening like PB said would be essential. Massage therapy is excellent.
Not sure the coverage situation is, but Occupational Therapy's (really helped the back pain) premise is improving posture and literally learning to walk sit and stand again. Just a thought, bet there's utub vids that can give you an idea. And ice, it constricts the blood vessels causing Inflammation. Inflammation = Pain.
Anyway, I'm going to share some coin pics this week. It's real cool how you can ID them and know backstory/history.

Whoa man.. thank you for sharing!
Not sure everything that goes into making them, but I sure enjoyed watching with dead jamming in background. Very intricate, despite the perceived chaos.
If you had a utoob channel, I'd be hitting it up while tripping, no doubt.

Thanks! Yeah those ones are on my channel but I don't have too much recent stuff up there, mostly older stuff with spheres where I was trying to emulate shading techniques from traditional printmaking. Some of those repeat and go on for a couple hours.
https://www.youtube.com/@pjm0826/videos
This web app is kind of the culmination of the work around crosshatched shading: https://pjm0.github.io/web_grids.io/
The more recent stuff is based around a bunch of waves being added together and creating patterns from the interference, like classic cymatics experiments. But only a couple of those are on youtube, I should put more up there.

I was going to see my GP next Month to discuss what I can do about my back but my health plan just dropped her so now I gotta go figure out who tf i can even see.
I'm fairly certain I slipped a disk in November. That sucked. I didn't have healthcare at the time. But it was bad enough to motivate me to go and get some. Healed to a usable level after I got coverage but its still been super touchy. Should stop putting it off.

I thought I had a herniated disk last year, ended up being a more minor SI joint injury. I assumed it was a slipped disk because it was started after doing a deadlift with too much weight and I was feeling it in all the same spots suggesting a herniated disk several weeks afterwards.
Did physical therapy on it which definitely helped. Went to the chiropractor a bunch too. Hopefully it's something closer to that and not an actual slipped disk. The areas that radiate can be very similar its easy to confuse them.

Hang in there Cookie- Ice it up!
You would know better, maybe. But I lost a doctor due to them negotiating a better contract with another company. Does it go both ways? Always a risk when choosing a company/plan/doctor. Shouldn't be.
Was going to suggest PT also.. once you go to a GP and get xrays. Do it!

I can't remember the last time I had a GP instead of an NP. Seems like a huge problem, especially in rural areas.
Headed back to the states next weekend til late October, I'm kind of hoping I don't have any pressing health issues til like..next year . I put off a whole bunch of tests because I was burnt out on medical shit and feeling way better after surgery, but I know that's not a good reason when it comes to health stuff .
Bringing all the American children in my life all the Canadian candy they're missing out on, but I have one nephew on a medically supervised keto diet for seizures and I gotta figure something else out for him that's better than just a lame stuffed animal.

My lik bro makes exotic jerky, right now hes raising rabbits that cost $60 each. After processing he drives all over the state to fulfill contract orders at different museums Believe he had an aligator in his tub for a bit.
