You need to fan atleast three times a day. That is why you have tooth picks for mushrooms.

That is not true at all, fanning isnt that important, I didnt fan mine AT ALL and they came out nice and fat, I even posted few pictures here, one mushroom even weighted around 60g fresh.
I think your RH is not high enough, or some other problems.

You need a hygrometer, you can buy one at any cigar shop, this might be your problem, fanning is definatly not it.

Those are cheap, those arent very accurate, the good ones cost in between $20-$30 or so.

i say add more water to your formula in the beginning.. but just
a little bit..

if you used 60ml in a 250ml jar, then use 64ml or a little more even.
good luck..

*over watering the formula causes buttons and fat pins, so maybe lack of water causes skinny pins.*

makes sense to me anyways..

ya, the $2 one I bought at the pet store is WAAAY off.
I bought a digital hygro/temp meter at Walmart for $14 and it works like a charm. Brand is Acu-Rite. It sits in 100%+ RH, and haven't had a problem with it yet.

By the way, my pet store hygro has indicators that go all the way up to 100% rh, but I've never been able to get the thing past 80%.

heh, why post misinformation? I guess you know more than stamens who reccomends air exchange what every hour or a couple times an hour, anyway more than 3 times a day. I know for a fact poor air exchange will fuck up the yield and is VERY important for healthy shrooms look-

i didn't have time to fan this one but once a day, first flush yield was a miserable 350g wet with like 7lbs horse shit spawned with wbs into a 5g bucket. as you can see small fruits none of which the caps got bigger than 2 inches across...

here's some fruit's drying from the same bucket but a diffrent flush, either 2nd or 3rd, when i had time to fan more often, probably 5 times a day. you can see that one cap got the size of my palm and all the other's are at least decent size can't remember weight but it was better then the first which has never happened to me before (oh and it wasn't dunked either)-

a foot long before i put it under the fan from the same bucket that did so miserable at first-

here's a bucket on it's fourth flush with good fanning, not much but notice how thick and healty they look (again no dunk after any flush) this bucket yielded 850g first flush btw, the whole bucket was filled with fat shrooms, why? because of good air exchange.

now how can you say air exchange isn't important at all? obviously you don't have much experience. and these pictures are so off chronologically and i don't have picks of matures or pinning stages for some because it was during a concert and i either didn't have time to take picks of didn't have batteries.

and robotic touch, my fried leaves a floro on 24/7 and dosn't have problems, i would still say 12/12 is best though :stoned:

Its not any misinformation, Im telling from my experience, when I fanned few times a day, I had so so flushes, when I stopped fanning and messing with it, they grew like charm, double the size and the quantity of when I fanned, I didnt even give it any light, just once a week, and letf it alone, works fine.
Just make sure you dunk it before birthing.
Stop making it alot more difficult that its realy is.
