What kind of academic background do you have?

Higher education, for me, consists of arguing with my betters in the hope of harnessing them to a plow for the betterment of mankind.

Because of this forum’s limited amount of traffic relative to the pub, you may find that responses will be few and far between. This fact had prompted myself to post a recent thread I had seen in the pub which I thought may give you a better idea of the educational background of the community as a whole, not just those who frequent or strictly adhere to posting in the PSP forum.

This subforum is what I am curious about, I do not want to sound snarky but I am not interested in 'The Pub' and the community as a whole.

You could always use those values as a sample and relate it to this forum if you don’t find any answers. A poll may also be beneficial.

Interesting. Your post sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole as I looked up the meaning of "classical rhetoric" & Aristotle and the 3 branches of rhetoric, etc
Outside of a bachelor's degree in Biological Science, from a US university, the only other formal education I've undergone is I possess a Qualified Applicators License issued thru the California Department of Pesticide Regulation. I take continuing education courses every two years and have maintained my license for twenty years.

The subject is intriguing indeed, it polishes the intellect.
Outside of a bachelor's degree in Biological Science, from a US university
Biological Science is something I do not know one iota of. I read "Asimov's New Guide to Science" and understood nothing - I am more of a speaker than one working in the lab - I do praise science and admire scientists like yourself.

If the art of speaking well we're a constant the jokes of the ancients would be as well received today as in their time but that isn't the case therefore there are changing factors within which the art adapts.

IDK, but when I responded I imagined it as a sort of hetti-nod to a sweet verse from the Diamond Sutra:
"So you should view this fleeting world -- A star at dawn, a bubble in a stream, A flash of lightening in a summer cloud, A flickering lamp, a phantom, and a dream."
