putting spores on already myco-filled cakes?
    #2844542 - 06/30/04 07:56 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

I was just thinking about the "flick n pick" rule I learned as a youngster... and wondered if this could apply to the pf tek cakes? Letting the veil open above the cake, so the spores land back into the myco? Will this work?

If so, that's probably another good reason to go with a bag / casing technique next time (or maybe for my next flush).

I don't get it.. What are you trying to do?
If the substrate is already colonized, it's not gonna colonize more when the spores drop on it.

good idea, wrong setting. i used to do the "flick and pick" back in the day. the reason it works is cause your flickin' them outside where there is an air current thus spreading the spores before you harvest the goodies. but by all means, deffinately not necessary in a controlled growing enviro.... plus your gonna print aren't you? i know i would if those we're my little gods.

I figured this wouldn't work, just wanted to know why.

matt's right, they have to be mature for the spores to germinate. Otherwise, nothing happens.
