I did use the pressure cooker@ 15lbs for 30 min. with a bio filter under the sealed lid. the inside of the jars had alot of moisture along the sides of the glass.i shook the inoculated jars of MY. then used a sterile tea spoon and added one tea spoon to 4 jars. How long should i wait without growth to re-do the rye inoculation? i still have 2 jars of MY. in a fridge waiting for their next turn. Also the MY. jars seemed milky and had small white asprin looking sediment on the bottom.i didnt try to inoculate the rye to soon did i?

Rye is suseptible to a lot of contams. Unscrew one of the lids and see if you have a foul oder. Rye is great but easily contaminated. It also falls to wetspot easily and by the amount of moisture you descibed I think you may have some problems. If you unscrew a lid and it smells like rye you are fine - just waite longer.

Thankyou, I was hoping someone would tell me to hold out alittle longer.Ive read alot about the liquid MY. jars having a foul smell.Mine dont smell the best and have like yellow looking clumpy stuff on the bottom of the jars that breaks up easily when swirlled. Please tell me that these are not condemed. When swirlled it looks just like the dissolved asprin analogy.

This description is not sounding good. I have had the best luck just using prints rather than syringes on rye. My last $1 print from Ralphster was 100% in 6 days on rye. I just lost 12 rye jars yesterday to the same thing you describe. I only used 1CC per jar and this was still too wet.

6 days 100% :) im past that already what is the process for this. This is my firt time ever trying this. All ive tried to do is follow the directions in my manual & ask alot of questions. Its killing me cuz im such a stikcler for details. What did you mean by 1cc was to wet? What i really dont understand is why it hasnt taken to the rye.Even if it is contaminated.I am using a small space heater to keep a constant tempand have thought it may be because it dries the air out so much. Now ive got them at 80 degrees w/55% humidity.will that make a diff. do you think?
