Cordyceps and tarantulas

Hello all! I’ve been branching out of actives and moving my way into medicinal and gourmet mushrooms recently. I’ve got a few fruiting blocks of oysters and lions main, along with a couple different Reishi blocks.
Now I’ve been doing some research on Cordyceps and really want to start growing them. The only problem is my significant other raises tarantulas in my grow space. Seeing as I have no other real space to grow them, this would be a terrible idea. Correct? I’m not trying to get kicked out on my ass because I zombiefied all her spiders

Interesting question. I don't know the actual answer, but I do know that the ones on bugs sold in China are REALLY expensive and very hard (if not close to impossible?) to cultivate, but I could be wrong about that. I don't think I've ever seen cordys growing out of a spider before in a photo. Curious to hear what others say.

Should be ok if growing in jars. Not really sure if C.militaris would be a problem.
Google has lots of neat photos of cordies growing on spiders.

Wow, cool and terrifying. I feel like farming them on insects would be kind of an unethical practice if it was a thing. I know most people don't care about bugs, but it seems like a pretty awful way to go for any organism. Do people grow them on mealworms? I feel like I've seen that before.
I feel like even in jars, spores would get everywhere and there would be a very high risk. Even if you harvested them in another room. Maybe the only way that it would be OK would be to harvest them in a completely other building while keeping the jars as a completely separate environment.

entomopathogenic mushrooms, cordyceps included, are used to have insect preferences they not hunt for all. You should check about c.militaries for sure, but I don't believe it will harm random spider. Also cordyceps fruit in closed jars with filters. I think it's better not to harvest fruits in the same room, but as I said I don't think it's easy for cordy to hunt the spider)
