I hoped they would've used more tryptamine compounds in their research, plus the actual mystical experience, since they obviously refer and compare it with this, interesting nonetheless to see research going on in this area. I watched their video on 'The Hyperbolic Geometry of DMT Experiences' a while back coincidentally.
Ram Dass quoting Neem Karoli Baba - Have a Good Journey Lecture; "These medicines were known about for thousands of years. In fact almost every culture has had medicines for altering consciousness." I mean, that's the truth, and he said; "But people have lost the knowledge of how to use these really effectively and how to prepare themselves for it. It's useful but it's not the full samadhi. It's not the complete thing. But, it can be useful under certain conditions." I said what are those conditions, he said; "When you're feeling much peace, and your mind is turned towards God, and you're in a cool place, it could be useful. It would allow you to come in and be in the presence of the spirit, but you can only stay for a few hours and then you'd have to leave. It's better to become the spirit than to visit it, but your medicine won't do that for you."
Mysticism "It should be emphasized that mystics value achieving enduring states of consciousness over transient experiences — in particular, they value the personal transformation leading to the enlightened state free of a sense of a phenomenal “self” in which they are aligned with the way things really are (as defined by their tradition). Mysticism is a matter of practices and ways of life, not episodic experiences."

very nice, I like what you said about mysticism, I find it true it's like when you get the call hang up the phone, meaning if you're using psychedelics to reach a state but you can reach a state without them then why not Occam's razor it and reach that state sober.
I think the sober state can be more informative, but psychedelics are still very useful in breaking down barriers.

True! Psychedelics can definitely act as a catalyst that will slingshot you through your barriers.

If all is one, then why do you like that symbolic lotus, rising from the mud; it is singular.
