Visual Distortions

Guys I have a question about my eyesight. As long as I can remember I have had little very straight lines radiating from the center of certain bright lights I look at. Usually these lines are not symmetrical, sometimes its only a small cluster of lines. Also I see a halo around some bright lights. I have 20/20 vision and no glasses or anything, could someone tell me the cause of this?

Yeah, probably genetics, or your mom was tripping balls when she was pregnant.
As far back as I can remember, I can recall seeing halos around light, lights beaming out of lights (especially from oncoming cars), blotches of color that move around walls (especially in dark rooms), and seeing funny looking cells and amoebas and shit moving across my eyes. I don't wear glasses, and I have 20/13 vision. Other people in my famil claim they have this stuff as well. Maybe I'm just imagining things, but I also think I have progressing hppd. Seems like every time I trip, the distortions I see are more pronounced and frequent.

Sounds like night glare. It's extremely common, but not everyone has it. Do a search for "night glare treatment" to see what can be done about it.

Now that I realize it I have the amoebas too, I don't want to get rid of it I think its kinda cool. Also I have this thing where I flex some muscle and my eyesight gets blurry - and I can control how blurry it gets... any ideas?

I think I have this as well. When you squint your eyes, do a lot more of these lines appear?

yeah, the lines also become more pronounced
Heres a picture of what it looks like:
maybe not as extreme and the lines are more even - not just horizontal and vertical like in the picture.. I still don't understand the cell looking things I see...

cilosyb mentioned them in the second post, imagine looking at amoebas under a microscope, it like a whole bunch of those that are translucent swimming around in your eyesight.. I haven't noticed em lately but I remember seeing them a few years ago..

Another thing I might mention, when I close my eyes I get kind of a light show as opposed to just seeing black.

dglbubx, sounds like my HPPD after shrooms yet before acid. Dont do acid, shrooms will do you good. What do they specifically look like, I see lots of little footballs, but all the color is gone after some of the meds they gave me started bringing out my epilepsy.

I have had this since I was a little kid, I read about the glare and halos being caused by pupil enlargment in the dark + imperfection in the eye lenses or something like that. I still don't under stand the ameobas yet I dont recall having seen them in a long time.

i read an article once about the closed eye visuals apparently when your close your eyes or in complete darkness when any contact comes in touch with the eye it sends a current to the brain telling it your seeing something. if that made any sense

yes, I used to push down on my eyes for many seconds to get visual hallucinations as a child. Irregardless, Ive always had minor visual hallucinations that I never thought important until I started doing psychedelics.
Edgar Allen Poe referred to them as 'imperfections in your eyes'. He had these problems as well...

Seriously don't worry about it, when I was young, like Redo, I used to have closed eye visuals which could be enhanced by putting pressure on my eyes - I was fascinated !
As for lines and things, most of these things are infact common - it's just most people aren't aware of them. As soon as you become aware of them, or start worrying about them then you will become convinced that there is something wrong with you...
I know this won't help much, but try and just ignore these symptoms, they are most likely perfectly natural.

I have those amoeba things all the time.. I thought it was normal until now, i see them 24/7... ive also noticed if i press on my eye for like 20 seconds everything kind of fades and theres like thousands of little white dots that looks like your looking at the stars..
Should i be worried about my eyesight? I have 20/20 .. maybe i have an infection?
