Giving my best shot at LC for the first time. Decided to go with .1% SSLC. Forgot to mix before I ran the cycle so I've got an agar puck at the bottom. Hopefully it's not too big an issue. Also some criovials in the background, nestled in a 4oz jar with paper towels and backed off lid.

Geeking out over this grain jar that might stall out before it gets a chance to finish.
I missed this.

I have one that looks like dense snow on top with the beads of water. No pins yet. Did I wait too long to start fruiting?

That looks bad. I blame bacteria. Examine aseptic technique or cycle.

Pretty solid night. Clingwrap helped make it a solid night. Took a bunch o transfers (those three stacks). The shelves are filling out! Some shook jars recovering. Sent a few things. Bunch o grain waiting.

So I go on vacation and came back this.

I haven't even got my first shoe box to fruit yet hopefully this weekend they will start. But I put a contaminated bag of rice outside, and mother nature beat me to the punch. Just some potting soil and leaf compost mixed in with one bag of uncle bens.

This looks fine to me. The middle did look a little sketchy until I zoomed in and it looks like itβs just the casing altering the color.
The surface conditions look good I wouldnβt change anything for now unless itβs been weeks.
You can start fruiting on day one to save some time, but also you canβt wait too long either. A while back somebody had a thread about preventing fruiting for months to try and increase potency.

I honestly have been doing tiny batches because I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm realizing that waiting too long to fruit is screwing it up. But yes it smells fine and I've already started to fruit the rectangle one. I let my jmf culture get about 80% , still some black spots on top before I started fruiting and it's already pinning nicely. No pins on these ones with dense mycelium on top. Should I put a casing on top to help it start pinning?

Here's basically all my diff stuff. Nothing smells bad. No abnormal colors. Having trouble fruiting with dense layer on top should I case it?

No, don't chuck anything. You can fruit them even if they're bacterial but understand the yield and overall appearance will be degraded.
We're just informing you of your situation, doesn't mean you must trash anything yet.

There's a difference between bacterial sub and bacterial mushrooms.
Bacterial mushrooms are slimy and rotten and you'd never eat then anyway
