Hi there,
Long time lurker. First post.
I did an experiment with golden oysters of bypassing the grain step and directly inoculate sawdust/straw with LC. Obviously it's very slow. But it's pretty nice to look at.

Yes there are bacteria. The substrate is way too compact and 1h30 PC was not enough to reach the core of the jar. Moreover I didn't use any pH up so it must be acid in there. I thought this jar won't be colonised. But golden oyster is very aggresive and give me this nice show.

Oh! hmm. I didn't realize it went in the PC!
I just pasteurized my oysters.

Maybe you are good then. I never had a problem with 90 minutes PC.
