Any thoughts? I fully believe in the benifits of microdosing. Just thought this was neat mainstream exposure...

I watched the 15 minute “preview” of the episode on YouTube.
And it’s cut with the “best moments” so I may be missing something but wow was it painful to watch.
Especially when the first guest called out Dr. Phil about claiming that there’s not enough research on the substance but then using the research defense to proclaim how harmful they can be.
I think a truly neutral discussion would be great. But Dr. Phil is far from neutral, even if he needs to pretend he is by saying so every so often.
This doesn’t mean everything that the mom for mushrooms said was right. I don’t understand why she’s telling her daughter about this. She’s too young to comprehend this subject and should not be talked about until she’s an adult. This isn’t Maria Sabina’s world, or that of our ancestors, where children live in these sacred communities where these substances are ritually used and protected by a knowing/shamanic elder.
And bringing up alcohol I feel isn’t helping out our cause. Saying “we do this terrible thing so we should allow others” is counterintuitive. Not that mushrooms are terrible but those on the side against it certainly believe it, so it’s an argument that won’t convince them.
Either way this is a difficult conversation to have. Especially because we here in America are some of the dumbest, closed minded people on the planet. And breaking through that is almost impossible.
But I do agree, I’m glad it’s getting more exposure. It won’t make a difference with the hard anti people but it might make some of the more intelligent people who are thinly against it start asking questions.

It's great that she has the courage to speak out in public like this! I hope she faced zero backlash in her personal life for doing that.

Dr. Phil is an MTV Reality TV show version of "helping people."
He's a trash person as much as he is a trash psychologist.
I think that chick did a great job, and Dr. Phil was eager to cut her down... But I think she served him a nice dose of "Shut the fuck up!"
I wrote a nice email to the Mother who lost her son to drugs. She's opposed to psilocybin because of fear, and fear isn't always rational.
I think that when Jodi heals up more, she'll soften her tune. She's basically doing this whole Mothers Against Drugs thing because this is her only real way she can deal with it... I think it's more of a distraction from the pain, than actual healing.
If she can figure out actual healing and can put her Mom's Against Drugs ego aside, she would come to terms that her son likely had an addictive personality from the start. To be honest, it sounds like he was inviting trouble. She wants to blame the drugs, and not his choices or acknowledge the reasons for what made him want to seek them out.
Putting her son aside. Jodi is a prime candidate for Psilocybin to help with what she's experiencing.
Whenever she replies back, she may double-down on a stance against what I wrote. I think non-long form smut-TV style interviews like this put so much pressure on being short and sweet about your answers, when in reality life is super complex. Her answer was "I'm against it for not medicinal purposes..."
The rest of the interview made it sound like she was completely against it, and I'm not sure if that's the actual case or not.
I fucking hate these TV shows; but, I think the Moms for Mushrooms crushed it for what it was. Good for her. I bet you whatever backlash she got, she can handle.
