A few recent photos from Pennsylvania 6

Photographed a week ago at the Alan Seeger Natural Area, Pennsylvania, USA
Everything I photographed was collected, and Stephen Russell generously offered to sequence it all.
This Coltricia was growing at the base of a hemlock, and was unusual because it was bright fluorescent blue in ultraviolet light. None of the other Coltricia that I have checked fluoresced at all.

Very nice. I found amanita rubescens for the first time this year.

The mushrooms are great. The mushrooms are fine. Give me them with lashings of wine.

Absolutely beautiful photos, Alan!
All of them could be included in the POTM contest. I have at least two in mind whenever the August nomination thread is posted.

Are there defining details that help identify Sutorius eximius in the field?

If I found one that looked like this I might assume Leccinum.
It looks really cool though.

The dark pores are unique, in combination with the black scabers on the stem.
Leccinum looks similar but has light colored pores.

I came across a bunch of these a few weekends ago here in PA, in a mixed hemlock forest. I thought they might be Lactarius...I didn't know candy caps were even out on the east coast
