Ive never tried water agar.....but sounds simple enough.
I have a bunch of plates from spores on multiple transfers. I am having a hard time fruiting. So these are a tissue sample from outdoors. Hence so dirty. Trying to get some good fruiting genetics.
Just going to keep on plugging along with it.

Can you describe your printing method ? Looks like a good way to do a lot of prints at once.

I have a 6” roll of foil that I pull off, fold in half, place on lid of underbed tub. Same size as 66qt tub, but only 6” tall. I lay the caps on the foil, make as many foil strips as I have caps, then put the tub over them onto the lid. 24hrs to print, 24hrs to dry. Then I cut, fold, and label.

So far, these pans seem to be a bit more of a challenge than cubes (and even easier - stone producers)
Out of 2 pan prints, the BVI seemed to be WAY dirtier than the Estero so I went with that and nocc'd 5 jars.
The kit I have only had 3 pans so I did them all up and kind of ignored the other 2 jars (after previously procrastinating doing something with them)
I took the (myc)pissed jars

and mixed them up into some potters we had lying around and filled them with a mixture of mulch and potting soil.

They are outdoors now and hopefully I can successfully fruit

Thanks, yes mystery S-A are really close to bispo but some small differences mainly the striated caps and probably a bit longer to start pinning.

Thanks to advice from Asura and ruawakeyet, I streaked from a spore print to 4 successive plates without "reloading" the loop. I've also repeated this process with a sterile cotton swab, but those are a day behind... Anyway, I think there might be some opportunity here? Appreciate any feedback.

Maybe something in the 3rd or 4th plates?

I'm hoping there's some healthy mycelium on the 3rd and 4th plates. See where some of the edges look lines radiating outward from the center point? That's what you're looking for. Healthy mycelium usually looks like organized lines all going (pretty much) straight out from the center.
When it looks like a clump of polyfill with fibers going every which direction, it's usually a contaminant. The other thing that strikes me is the fact that those plates are only 4, maybe 4 1/2 days old. (I'm assuming they were streaked August 5th. Please correct me if I have assumed incorrectly.)
I think the fastest visible germination I've had with pans is around 48 hours, and none of them grew that much in another 48 hours. Are you incubating your plates? I do think there is some desirable mycelium in the locations I described. I would transfer some tiny wedges staying as far away from the disorganized colonies as possible and see what comes of it.
Good job on the germ plates! You might just be dealing with a dirty print, so keep it up, and look how much room there is for the colonies to grow!

Little devils these things are. My TTBVI didn’t grow very big and I ended up harvesting prematurely.
.265g felt like 10x that of cubes. Please test your product before jumping into the deep end. 🙏
