Just sit around and wait? Feels like a waste of time to be waiting on flushes when you could be dialing in other aspects

Once I actually got a flush from my first bulk grow, I had more than enough fruit, and found that I instantly stopped fretting about how long some other grow step would take. Sure I want things done faster because it's fun to see things grow, but... A week, a day, a month... Eh, whatever!

My second flush seems to be I progress, does the bruising on the stems just go away and spout into a whole new mushroom?

I am new to this world. Bought a 5lb all in one boom bag. Once the block has formed, I am considering doing monotubs instead of fruiting in the bag. Ikea has the 365+ line with a 358 oz container. Would this be OK to use after modding the tub to spec?
If so, maybe I take the 5lb bag and split it among two of these tubs so I have two running in tandem. Ideas? Shoot me down and set me straight!

I'm new to gardening. I bought a tomato plant starter kit. Once it grows, I'm considering breaking the plant into chunks and mixing it into soil in a giant trough. I've modded the trough to spec.
I would expect it to go about as well as the above idea if you continue in this direction. So -- first, welcome to the Shroomery! Second, details please. You bought a 5lb all in one boom bag? What's in it exactly? What have you done with it? You then talk of "the block" forming and moving it to a monotub. I'm assuming you mean, when the bag is fully colonized I want more?
There are several red flags here. If anything, I'd leave it alone as much as possible and try to get a sample or two you can then take to Agar -> More Agar (cleaner this time!) -> some grain in jars cooked in your fancy new presto -> that monotub you want filled with coir verm and your healthy clean 100% colonized grain.
Truly though -- details. Otherwise nobody can help you. ...and without any judgement, welcome! There's LOTS of good info here. Read read read. Sticky threads. Get a hold on the cycle. You've got this.

I bought one of these bags - https://www.etsy.com/listing/1242798200
then bought some spores from another site
Here's the link showing me what to do. I'm up to step 6 where it's colonizing. https://boomingacres.com/pages/all-in-one-bag-instructions
My understanding is that I will wait for the mycelium to finish growing and then I can mix the bag then pack it tight again. After colonization I was considering migrating to the totes to possibly get a larger/consistent area for growth and ability to easily do a second flush (which I guess can be done in the bag too)

Go ahead and follow their instructions -- but in the meantime read up here on what the proper way is to do what's happening in your grow bag. You'll understand why you won't want to do that again sooner than later . My advice remains the same. Don't futz with it as much as possible. Get something. Take a sample of that something to agar and then to your own grain. Good luck!

If it colonizes well you can absolutely break it up into tubs. Those would be a good size, I would check out pasty’s ez dial thread and start out with the minimum amount of holes and then add on if needed.

My new stove has a safety switch keeping the burner from staying on high. It gets to temp then drops. Makes heating up the pc a pita. Thinking about getting an outdoor propane burner, but I'm worried they get too hot for my presto. Anyone use one of these with an aluminum pc? Propane propane

I use burners similar to that, usually the lowest setting holds a good pressure once it’s up there.
I can’t remember the stats but I did look for the lowest BTU I could find.

Yeah I’ve got a 55000btu propane burner. It’s great for getting a big pot up to boiling but when I lower the gas for maintaining pressure the flame turns orange so probably not as efficient as a lower btu burner.
Take the burner and hose portion inside when not in use to avoid rust/bugs that’ll cause a less efficient burn. Aluminum is fine just don’t let the flame go up the sides of the pot

I use a Presto 23qt induction compatible pressure cooker, and an induction hotplate that I got because our electric range is really slow at boiling water. It works great. Once pressure is reached it can maintain pressure with just 800W.
Won't help for aluminum only pressure cookers though.

Hi all,
I guess that, looking at the color and water drops in the glass' jar, I'm dealing with contamination here... can I save this somehow? Perhaps not shaking it and see? Please note that I have an european PC that takes only 2 jars and have to be sterilized for 3 hours at least (10 psi max). Even if it's not perfect, I'd keep it if there's a possiblity to have fruits from it.

There's yellowish spot on the bottom left of the circle; just for reference, that's a 1 quart jar. The droplets can be easily seen on the glass at the top, just above the grains. Also: if I turn around the jar, there's no water droplets on the surface of the remaining empty glass, just above that mycelium growth.

Water droplets on the glass indicate that the temp in the jars is warmer than the temp outside. It is not indicative of bacteria. Is that yellow spot not an agar wedge stuck to the glass?

I've always read that water droplets may be a good indicator for bacteria, here on the forum. I hope this is not the case, but one think that also make me doubt is that they're present only above this suspiciuos colonization spot.
I was thinking about a wedge too, but I'm not sure: I inoculated the jar and then I left for 12 days, was on holiday; I didn't follow the growth unfortunately, that's why I was looking for the forum's thoughts about it. Also, in past grows, I didn't see yellowish spots where the wedges were.

Myco is correct, looks like the wedge and the droplets you're seeing are condensation. There's difference between contamination sweating and general condensation from the mycelium.
That jar looks good so far.
