Speeding tickets 2

How many do you have?
I got my second one in 18 years yesterday, last one was over a decade ago. Speed limit was 70, I was going about 75 and the car in front of kept slamming on their brakes so I got in the left lane to pass them. After I passed them I saw a statie in the right lane 3-4 cars ahead which must've been why people were slowing down, I got back in the right lane after passing the one car.
The statie then pulls off into the breakdown lane, I pass and and he pulls me over further down the road, said I was going 84. I had no clue they have radar now that can detect the speed of people that far behind and diagonal to them, but I guess it's a thing now. They use a lot of unmarked cars on the stretch of highway too so I guess I'll be sticking the right lane now. He wrote the ticket at 80 so it's $130 or so, if he had wrote it for 84 it would have been like $350

That sucks
In my experience, at least in my are, ever since covid hit the police aren't pulling ANYBODY over unless you literally crash into somebody/something. It's like the wild west days on the road and I love it

They should really start handing out reckless driving to all the fuckin morons on the road before they give out BS speeding tix like this

There's reckless speeding and there's not reckless speeding. And this my friend, is textbook not reckless speeding!
In the last three days alone I've seen -a car just blatantly stopped in the road to try to make a left. Unfortunately for this stupid shitbag he didn't look to see if there was room to pull out (trying to make a light) and he ends up blocking two lanes of traffic once the cross traffic gets green. Totally fucks up the entire road people are dangerously trying to squeeze around him. No ticket
-another fuckin winner pulled out right in front of my truck and my fiancé slammed on the breaks just in time.
-multiple extra minor infractions that are more dangerous than passing on the fuckin left, fuck that cop.
Yet none of these fools got tickets, I guess it's more important to lie in wait like a fuckin snakey snake fuck and give out bullshit speeding tickets. Fuckin cops
Believe it or not I have no speeding tickets. I'm too worried about cops trying to fuck me to give 'em a reason to possibly get into my car. I'm obsessive about brake lights, registration, etc. so they can't pull some bullshit on me
Always be a defensive driver! Don't assume other cars will follow the laws and use blinkers and stuff because they are shitty incapable humans that shouldn't be driving multi-thousand pound death machines

I got pulled over twice on the same drive on memorial day. No tickets. The first guy gave me a warning, the second guy was annoyed I had been pulled over not less than 20 minutes before and had to let me go. I guess you can't get a ticket/warning for the same thing twice in one day.
I knew I was getting grabbed the second time too. I looked the dude dead in the eyes as I crossed through his speed trap. I wasn't speeding, I had just gotten pulled over. I actually pulled straight into a gas station, but even after pulling out to tail me, the cop went by. I filled up and took a leak. That should be enough time, right? When I left, here comes the cop going the opposite way, he does a U-Turn and pulls me over. WTF
When I rolled down my window I gave him my license, insurance, registration, and the warning. It was all still sitting on my passenger seat. The look of disgust on his face was a pleasure.
I have never gotten a speeding ticket. Warnings, yes. I get more issues with the lack of inspection on my car. Two of those tickets this year. In the city they don't bother you, they have problems to solve. It's in small towns and out on the interstate where they are bored that those tickets happen. The sad thing is that my car is in mint condition. I treat it like my baby. I am just too lazy to pay a shop $85 to then try and scam me on brakes or whatever.

Just one. I'm not sure exactly how fast I was going but he wrote me as 2 miles under a reckless driving charge. I probably was over it and I'm super grateful he gave me a break.
It was a tag team. I saw the cop on the shoulder and he almost certainly radioed it in to his buddy further up who pulled me.
I can't be mad. They're literally there to catch people speeding so that people stop speeding so much.
And to make money but ya know... They can always make more money if they want...

Speeding tickets, maybe 2 or 3. Tickets overall it has to be in the 30s. When I was younger was some kind of sponge for them, but despite the checkered past with LEOs, I have a tremendous amount of respect for them. A, because my brother in law became one, and hes a fantastic person, b., because ive put myself in some bad situations with very poor judgment and rather than bringing the hammer down the PO's on scene gave me some huge breaks, and c. I know by proxy how many motherfuckers POs have to deal with, its not a cake job, and im sure many of them dont love having to give tickets out to good people.
Still tickets in general suck, and I fucking hate receiving them. Its been a long while for me, but I have noticed more police presence in the general area lately, and pulling people over. Sometimes that cycle is just happening, so I would advise people to drive slower, and safely, and at minimum with heightened awareness. I want to keep the no ticket (and no crash) streak going .
Sorry OP, hope its an easy breeze out of this ticket for you.

350 would be hefty. Good thing he gave you a lower amount.
Also, I have never had a speeding ticket, however once I ran a red light without realizing it, and got pulled over by an officer. But she was very nice, just talked to me about it without giving me any tickets.

See that's not right. The law is that they should fuck you over. And you should always follow the law, am I right?

I didn't disobey the law. I didn't run the red light deliberately. I said, "without realizing it". Also, I never said laws should fuck people over. I merely said people should follow laws, and this triggers you to this day, lol.

It doesn't matter if you intended to or not. A red light does not mean, "stop if you see me." It means DO NOT FUCKING GO THROUGH IT, you could cause a serious accident. But since it was you, and it was an accident, the law should not be equally applied?
You're fuckin laughable

I did not realize there was a red light. It is not such that I saw a red light and still chose to go ahead anyway. It sounds like you have a problem with me just because I said people should obey the laws.

Dude, you can't be serious. I never said the law shouldn't be applied to me equally. The officer chose not to give me a ticket on her own volition. How is this my fault?
You need to stop getting butt-hurt over me.

im saying if the cop had your ridiculous idiotic view they WOULD have given you an expensive ticket. They took the rational human approach and realized there are nuances to following the law. Something you apparently don't understand.
Please stop saying that you are hurting my feelings just because I think the stuff you say is totally idiotic. I can be an abrasive person, especially when dealing with a stunad of the first magnitude.

I only got a speeding ticket once. Speed trap at the bottom of a steep hill with a 40 kph speed limit. You have to be braking the entire way down not to be speeding. The cop said I was doing 65 but he would reduce it to something where I wouldn't get demerit points.

It doesn't matter what they would have done. The important thing is that she chose not to give me a ticket. This wasn't my fault because I could not control what she chose to do or not do.
I also did not choose to break a law. So this is completely consistent with my value that people should obey laws.

So basically when you say "there are nuances to following the law", what you really mean is that sometimes people can break laws. LMAO

I don't follow you around, I mean how much of an inflated ego can you have? There's like 3 active threads at any given time in the pub and you think it's that I'm following you to give you shit?!? Not a fuckin chance, I just consistently disagree with everything you say. I'm gonna say my piece.
Anyways 6.00€ / kilo
