most of the vendors i have delt with from the list here... if you tell them the syringe was contaminated or damaged will just replace it without hassle.
you can not mention in any way that you are using it in any way other than for microscopy because then they risk legal liability... so whatever you do say it was damaged or say it was full of other stuff on the slide.
please dont abuse this, the vendors are the reason we can sit here and answer your questions for free.

Getting an empty syringe from a reputable vendor is fairly rare - being a new cultivator that failed to get germination going is much more common. If you actually looked at it under a scope and it was a blank, absolutely let the vendor know and state exactly that - but don't assume that just because you didn't get growth that the only possible cause is a blank syringe/vendor issue.

Ok, so I’m trying the PF TEK method. I had amazing mycelium growth. Cakes were solid white. I’ve had them in a shotgun chamber for a 9 days and nothing seems to be happening. I have a repti-fogger running 5 min every hour. What’s happening?

Sgfc’s are outdated and rarely work well unless you have that thing packed full of cakes.. I’m talking PACKED like so (there’s 24 cakes double stacked in each bin) and even that’s not a sgfc because they allow too much FAE imo

What you should do is use an appropriate sized container for your amount of cakes and use a Water tub. For an idea of how big of a container to use, you only need a few inches around each cake to grow great flushes.
I use a lil water tub in a large ziplock that I poke syringe needle holes in the bag every 2”..

Works great

To illustrate just how little room and passive FAE (no fanning) they need, for a single cake, you can poke holes every couple inches in a sandwich bag and throw a wet top and bottom layer of verm and leave it alone..

You can even grow lil grain/coir/verm subs in sandwich bags for tester bags

Yeah, I’ve got 24 cakes less than 2” apart. I would have expected some activity by now.

Well.. 9 days is still a bit early to worry too much. I’ve had cakes take a couple weeks to start pinning. One thing you can do is wait til you see knotting in the jars before birthing. Then you’d probably see a flush at least start within that 9 days.
The fogger seems excessive. Got a pic of how the cakes look now?

Those cakes look like they just came out of the jar. Did you dunk them and roll them in verm? Also they are spread out quite a bit. I like them much closer together in a smaller tub to really keep moisture levels up at the surface.

Yeah they look like they’re struggling a bit. Probably because if the excess FAE. I’d throw a wet verm layer on top of the cakes and get them in a water tub even a bit smaller than that tub. Ditch the fogger (don’t need it with a water tub). No need to mod the new tub.. just follow mateja instructions.
If you do keep them in the tub they have now, tape up about 80% of the holes and add water to the cakes somehow.. either by dunking for 12 hours or Bottom watering (this is a good option so you don’t disturb the fruiting surface which is what dunking would do)
I know you say they’re packed in there but they really aren’t quite yet.. that tub is still a lil too big for that amount of cakes. This is 24 cakes in a 54 qt tub

I did forget to roll them in the vermiculite before, but they were dunked for 24 prior to putting them in. Is it too late to roll them or should I just push with what I have?
