Help cloning wild reishi!
    #28390169 - 07/09/23 09:55 AM (6 months, 17 days ago)

A buddy of mine found a few old reishi mushrooms growing out of a log here in central Texas! I tried cloning it but it's very tough... Hard to get a good piece of internal tissue. The plate I cloned some prices to blew up with contam!

I'm not sure how to clean this up.

I think it was someone on here that inserts wooden toothpicks into the undersides of polypores then retrieves them a few days later then sticks the toothpick into water agar.

i got lucky last year and got a good sample cloned, thought i lost the 2 jars i made to contam and pitched them out in the garden, then low and behold a little reishi popped up in the garden. sometimes its luck but also wipe down the sample pieces in 70% iso before bringing them into the sab to then split and harvest a small sliver to use. i will be harvesting a new sample very soon. its that time to find them in wild

Someone mentioned sticking a toothpick into the reishi and then pulling it out after a few days. Placing that on an agar dish. Sounds like a decent idea.
