sometimes, love triumphs over hate in a landslide way.
Quote:
Pope Francis has criticised laws that criminalise homosexuality as “unjust”, saying God loves all his children just as they are, and calling on Catholic bishops who support the laws to welcome LGBTQ+ people into the church.
“Being homosexual isn’t a crime,” Francis said on Tuesday in an interview.
Francis acknowledged that Catholic bishops in some parts of the world support laws that criminalise homosexuality or discriminate against LGBTQ+ people, and he himself referred to the issue in terms of “sin”. But he attributed such attitudes to cultural backgrounds and said bishops in particular need to undergo a process of change to recognise the dignity of everyone.
“These bishops have to have a process of conversion,” he said, adding that they should apply “tenderness, please, as God has, for each one of us”.
Francis’s comments, which were hailed by gay rights advocates as a milestone, are the first uttered by a pope about such laws. But they are also consistent with his overall approach to LGBTQ+ people and his belief that the Catholic Church should welcome everyone and not discriminate.

he can't change the best interpretation of the scripture but he obliterates the sense that the gay "sin" is more inappropriate or unwelcome that most sins of most believers.
As the primary Christian religion, Apostle Peter's tomb is in the Vatican, this is an enlightened position for Christianity, ever, period.

Quote:
Gen 6 said: ...the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Sons of God -- interpreted to be fallen angels.
Quote:
Jude 1 said: And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange (rendered, heteros in Greek) flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Strange (heteros) flesh, meaning that of a different order of beings -- the angels who came to warn Lot. As per the story, the original Sodomites wanted to 'know' the angels, carnally.
Enoch is interpreted to say that the hybrids had demonic souls, that go to Hell, when the physical body dies.
Quote:
Lev 20 says: If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Redefining Leviticus 20:13 https://jewishstandard.timesofisrael.com/redefining-leviticus-2013/
With all due respect for "rabbi" June's interpretation, there are still unambiguous gender roles (as between male and female) which neither she nor the Pope are preaching.
