I just went down the line starting with sui
sui nice job! I dig the acoustic sounds and enjoyed the awesome vibes sounds like birds in the beginning, badass
lifeiswhatyoumake the ocean song, thoroughly enjoyed! Something I noticed is this, within 10 seconds of the song I was grinning and by the end still grinning, super creative dude Sun-struck is very cool man, it totally reminded me of when I was on an island and went for a long ass walk and forgot to bring water. On the way back I was frying and walking slower and slower, you captured a feeling, again had me grinning great mixing too, sounds great from here.
FishOil what lifeiswhatyoumake said, damn dude and good mix! Sounds bangin from here
Y’all kick ass and it is so fun to listen to all you shroomy musicians

Hertz, I'm super happy to hear that! If no one else ever commented on the track again I wouldn't mind because your comment made me happy. Dang, what island were you lost on?
Here is another track from the album called "Underwater." Piano-focused and then the beat creeps in: https://on.soundcloud.com/3DcmE

Assateague Island MD, I’ve been there almost every year since I was ten, it used to be Maryland’s little secret, it’s a campground on an island, set up camp a few hundred yards from the ocean. It’s either heaven or hell. Last year I went for two weeks and shroomed a few times there, the best because it’s so fucking awesome there.
The time I was remembering was a few years ago, I started walking down the beach and decided to keep going until the “end” of the island toward ocean city, by the time I got there it was blazing fucking hot. Idk how far it was, hours though and no water, I was dragging my ass up the dune by the end of it. I listened to your song and it took me right back there
I’m gonna listen to the next one soon, just sat my ass down with a beer, look forward to it

Sounds good! I'm about to open a beer, too. Just picked up some THC-A marijuana and gonna bong it up.
Here is arguably the best track on my album, "Rainy Daydream": https://on.soundcloud.com/gJ733

That looks like a barrier island. I live in NC and have gone to our barrier islands a few times. It's such a unique place to be. I tripped one time at the beach. I took half a tab of 1P-LSD and just played in the sand and water for hours. People dug a tide pool back out to the ocean and the sucking of the water back out to sea was super thrilling to sit in and almost get sucked away. I haven't tried shrooms at beach yet. I have taken shrooms at a lake and that was amazing. I really felt the connection from our ground level reality and heaven's reality, even though I'm not a Christian anymore.

Nice story I like it barrier island for sure, yes shrooming at the beach is wild, especially when no one is around. The ocean was brooding one night with a full moon, I was shrooming watching the low clouds fling by the moon. While the waves were kinda long and crushing. So beautiful.

What time signature is that track in, Cory? I can't figure it out. Tricky beat or somethin'.

Pretty sure the guitar is played in the rhythm of 3-3, and then I used ableton to layover some extra drum effects. I'm pretty sure all my guitar tracks are in 3. I had a microphone and software breakdown during covid and with the lockdown the sound quality was reduced to the overblown, grainy, fuzzy sound I've been stuck with. Also, I've been having a difficult time playing music without smoking some cannabis first. It's almost like playing guitar is like running, and I can't seem to get going without my fuel. Running on empty.
Here is a track that's definitely in 3, and it's a bit hard to listen to without a comfy set of headphones. I can imagine with certain headphones this track is pretty much unlistenable, but it's a good example of playing in the 3. This one is definitely in 3. I plan on saving up for a new mic soon. Until then there's this overblown, grainy, fuzz that some might not be able to stomach.

"You probably wouldn't pay any attention to this method if you were not a singer. The system works in a cyclical way. Because you're thinking in odd numbers instead of even numbers, you're usually playing with a different value system. Popular music is usually based on the number 2, and then filled in with fabrics, colors, effects, and technical wizardry to make a point. But the total effect is usually depressing and oppressive and a dead end which at the most can only last in a nostalgic way. If you're using an odd numerical system, things that strengthen a performance automatically begin to happen and make it memorable for the ages. You don't have to plan or think ahead. In a diatonic scale there are eight notes, in a pentatonic scale there are five. If you're using the first scale, and you hit 2, 5, 7 to the phrase and then repeat it, a melody forms. Or you can use 2 three times. Or you can use 4 once and 7 twice. It's infinite what you can do, and each time would create a different melody. The possibilities are endless. A song executes itself on several fronts and you can ignore musical customs. All you need is a drummer and a bass player, and all shortcomings become irrelevant as long as you stick with the system. With any type of imagination you can hit notes at intervals and between backbeats, creating counterpoint lines and then you can sing off of it.There's no mystery to it and it's not a technical trick. The scheme is for real. For me, this style would be most advantageous, like a delicate design that would arrange the structure of whatever piece I was performing. The listener would recognize and fell the dynamics immediately. Things could explode or retreat back at any time and there would be no way to predict the consciousness of any song. And because this works on its own mathematical formula, it can't miss. I'm not a numerologist. I don't know why the number 3 is more metaphysically powerful than the number 2, but it is. Passion and enthusiasm aren't even necessary. You can manufacture faith out of nothing and there are an infinite number of patterns and lines that connect form key to key - all deceptively simple. You gain power with the least amount of effort, trust that the listeners make their own connections, and it's very seldom that they don't. Miscalculations can also cause no serious harm. As long as you recognize it, you can turn the dynamic around architecturally in a second. Also, you don't need to feel any certain way to play like this. It doesn't run on emotion. I thought of it as a new form of music. Strict and orthodox, the opposite of improvisation. I'm not that good at math, but I do know that the universe is formed with mathematical principles whether I understand them or not, and I was going to let that guide me." (Bob Dylan, Chronicals)

Holy moly, I can't believe it's taken me 15 years to find this thread!!

I'm a noodler... this was just a free style on some of my favorite chord / fretboard patterns. Not legit trained, just been messin' with strings for a couple decades. I did take some piano lessons as a yougin' in the 90's, so I have some musical background, but I'd really like to put some more time into guitar theory so I can more comfortably sit in on the fly with any and everyone!
Whisky session from yesterday...
