Psilocybin is dangerous for people with phosphate metabolism complications
    #28401842 - 07/20/23 02:42 PM (6 months, 6 days ago)

For those with liver damage and kidney damage, psilocybin poses life threatening reactions via phosphate metabolism.

Psilocin does not exhibit the same risks.

Source?

ME. Yes, it is a fact that Psilocin poses less of a risk for people with phosphate metabolism complications than does psilocybin.

Everyone should get their calcium and phosphate blood levels checked before starting a psilocybin assisted therapy program.

The safest solution: synthesize psilocin via acid hydrolysis.

Be safe because these reactions are not a joke.Trust me.

This information is useless without a medical or academic reference. Because as presented, it's unverifiable, and also not specific enough to act upon.

People with kidney issues can't flush phosphates very well. Psilocybin causes my kidneys to shut down while psilocin doesn't. The only difference between the two is the phosphate and phosphatase enzyme reaction. Phosphatase is why some people become nauseated when ingesting psilocybin. For me, it is quite a bit more severe. And it never happens when ingesting psilocin.

My abdomen swells with fluid.
My organs shut down.
And I go into shock while becoming delirious.
My lungs fill with fluid.
You can't just nullify reality on the basis of being an outlier.

I also have a hard time metabolizing nuts because of their high phosphate content.

I've experienced this 2x with psilocybin and never with psilocin. Acid hydrolysis does convert psilocybin to psilocin.

Outliers wouldn't change in a study with multiple people. It may be rare, but it's still a risk. A study would only say the percentage of people at risk not that it isn't a risk. It is clearly a risk. I am walking evidence. It is verifiable. It's the same logic as a prescription drug causing stroke or blindness in some users.

Where are you going to find a study or get enough people to test with a "schedule 1 substance"

I've been curious about the connection between the kidneys, both dried mushrooms and fresh cause me to urinate constantly.  Sometimes with considerable difficulty.  Are they a diuretic or what do you think is happening, I know a couple others also get this side effect

Any chance this was you OP?
"This is the first reported case of acute kidney injury (AKI) secondary to confirmed ingestion of Psilocybe cubensis mushroom."

"Acute renal injury cause by confirmed Psilocybe cubensis mushroom ingestion"
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2211753918301490

From what I understand, nuts are ok for people with chronic kidney disease. Here's from a quick google search from kidney.org:
"Most people with CKD or a kidney transplant do not have to limit nuts and seeds due to potassium or phosphorus."
"Hemodialysis (3 times a week)
Potassium and phosphorus can be a concern for nuts and seeds. Limit to ΒΌ cup portion."

I don't know what your situation is, but i wish you good health. And I actually do have a friend who was hospitalized with kidney problems who was considering trying shrooms so we will keep this in mind and send him any info. You said you had 2x experience - 2 times out of how many and what kind of doses?

I wonder if the guy ate them fresh instead of dried? Possibly since he grew them. I read that the more you damage the mushroom the more psilocybin de-phosphorylates into psilocin. The blueing reaction is part of it. I've heard people having more issues with fresh mushrooms than dried. He was also 15. Maybe his system wasn't developed enough or he had other health issues or something.

Oh yeah I know a bunch of people this happens to... Myself included. Happens on MDMA as well so my guess its related to vasoconstriction. Doesn't happen on stimulants as bad so I have always assumed it was serotonin related. I find taking arginine and other vasodilators help with this. I take arginineAKG @ 2-4grams mixed into Tang and water.
