"Right now, I fog for 2 mins and 30 seconds, then immediately vent for 1 minute. Then I rest for 10 mins and 30 seconds. This gives a total cycle time of 14 minutes. The whole goal of the cycles is to dump moisture into the tent to hydrate the fruits directly, and provide such an excess of moisture that it actually waters your substrate/casing, replacing moisture that was lost to consumption by the mycelium/fruits and by evaporation during the rest stage. When you vent and then rest, the idea is that the tent is just humid enough to prevent the fruits from burning due to conditions being too dry, but dry enough to promote evaporation of moisture from the substrate which triggers pinning and encourages fruiting. I do not find that having two different cycles, one for pin formation and one for fruit formation is ideal. The same cycle is good for ALL phases, which is great because it keeps it simple and consistent. I have measured the humidity levels with an electronic hygrometer but the $150 ones are not very fast to update, which is another reason to avoid using humidity controllers. But as a reference point, your tent will be about 80-85% RH average during the nearly 30 minute rest cycle. The cycle in my tent outlined above has the vent cutting out before all of the visible humidity has been vented out. This means the humidity in the tent is probably 95-100% upon vent shut-off, but over the next 10:30, that humidity slowly leaks out into the room (air is self-regulating for humidity - it will balance itself - humid air that has a path too dry air will move through the path in order to equalize), causing the humidity to fall into the mid 80's by the time the fogger kicks on again. What in the actual fuck?!? Asks for help than a page of explaining to you that you donβt understand rh and then points out that you have to build it like they saw on the internet. Thatβs not common sense, thatβs a total lack of critical thinking skills. Sir is correct, sensors tend to degrade and go bad, kinda like what youβre experiencing op, so people use cycle timers. Youβre also not understanding that nobody is suggesting you grow completely exposed to the air.

For anyone who stumble's across this in the future...
I run mono's (modded and un-modded, just for comparison right now)over 7k ft in CO where RH is pretty low.
I don't fan them, that's crazy talk, nobody will recommend you do this anyway.

Psycho's right. I grew in the desert for 3 years, 5-15% year-round. Never needed a tent, still got canopies. A tub of any size can be managed with occasional misting if you prep things right from the beginning.

As someone who used the Martha for a couple years I can say that the best option is a timer.
After fussing and fucking that Martha every which way I could I eventually just gave up on Martha's dry old crotches and moved completely into tubs because of not only the ease of maintenance but mostly because of the results.
Tubs are much more preferable to those of us who do have experience with both because at the end of the day we want the best results.
So shotgun, pmp, any of the other tub methods including a tub lined with paper towels (which is what i have used the last few times); if you're fruiting cakes Martha just doesn't provide enough easy, consistent moisture to keep the cakes from drying out.
Remember that some success is not continued or consistent success.

It's a good tent and I've had a lot of success with it but I occasionally have trouble with the humidifier not running.
I keep it at 92% with a 1% differential but the sensor will stay at 99-98% and the water in the humidifier wont go down for days.
To fix this I would turn the heat up a little bit but the summer is getting hot and I have the heater set at 75 degrees to keep the humidifier running.
When the humidifier is not running and I'm not having to refill it with water, I notice my cakes getting dry even though the humidity sensor reads 98%. I do feel like this is an issue and I'm afraid I'm losing moisture in the substrate right now.
If anyone has an idea of what's going on or has any advice I would really appreciate it thankyou.
Wow, these guys really straight brigade every post and come sideways if you're not using a shoe box. Sorry to see this happening to you. I find the use of 42 cent sensors to regulate my chamber of any nature is cool, more difficult, and worth it. They came at me over a custom setup and now I'm locked out over accusations by the swamp. There's a whole other community 3x the size now and its not like this.
