Should prepoured agar plates be wrapped in parafilm prior to use?

I have just started cultivating mushrooms and working with agar. The supplier I have used for pre-poured malt extract agar plates sent the plates in sealed plastic bags of 5. Inside the bag the lids are on but not attached or sealed in any way. Is this normal?
The reason I ask is because I would like to mark the plates with a T for streaking and label them before I do my work. However I don't feel comfortable handling the plates outside of the SAB and turning them to mark before they are sealed feels like I am increasing chance of contamination. Also humidity seems to get high inside the SAB and makes using a marker pen difficult, reducing the humidity in there is probably a secondary issue.
I would feel more comfortable if the plates were individually sealed. That way I can mark and label them prior and work inside the SAB can be brief and with as little air disturbance as possible. Are sealed pre-poured plates a thing or should I expect to always receive the plates as I have done?
What is the best practice for marking and pre-labeling the plates safely?

Why not do the marking after you have done what you wanted to do?

Marking the plates into segments helps me considerably when streaking them using the T streak plate method for isolating a single culture. I am trying to create haploid isolates.

If the marking makes your work easier then draw a template on a piece of plastic or whatever moisture resistant material and have it sitting under your plates when you do the streaking.
Probably time to do your own plates soon.

Brilliant suggestion that's exactly what I'm going to do - thank you.
And yeah, I am just getting started and trying to throw myself into the deep end as much as possible, going after the things I find most exciting and learning as I go. I find this is a great way to learn anything. I will look into preparing my own plates next.
Appreciated.
