Hey y'all.
I got the opportunity to renovate my bedroom, so ofc I had to make some space for my mushies. I had a couple ideas to increase efficiency and reduce contamination risk, and wanted to hear y'alls opinions. Currently, my bedroom is the only space for growing I have access to.
I have a table available for SAB work. In addition to this, I have a set of shelves perfectly sized for monotubs, with enough space for 8.
I'm using hardwood floor for easy sanitization. I was thinking of installing an air filter in the room vent, and placing a small air purifier somewhere in the room. I have noticed ants and spiders in the room, likely from the window, so I plan to clean and caulk both inside and outside of the window. I got blackout curtains and lights from a previous project, and I'm hoping the curtains will prevent air currents from blowing contaminants into the growing space while still allowing adequate airflow. I'm not sure if lights are important to cubes, I just have regular led lamps to mimic the daylight cycle.
I want to start agar work after success with syringes, and was wondering if y'all thought there were any more measures I could take to help prevent against contam, or if there are any challenges I forgot to address.
PS: Housemates are cool with it.
