Hi guys. I got a new peyote and it's very small. The pot is also tiny. I guess I should I move it into a bigger pot, but I need advice. What kind of soil should I buy? Does it need water? I'm reading you!

Pot size is fine, need to repot to mix with less soil and organic matter. Think desert soil with rocks and sand.

Hi
The soil I use is canna terra, this works well for me. I also have lots on hand for my other hobbies.
As for pot size they can grow a long root, so maybe think about potting up in size at the start of summer when the plant will go through it's growth period.

Like most all pot grown plants, don’t re-pot until you see the roots are stressed. Loph small roots will wind alot around the base of the pot, but easy to check without negatively effecting the plant and you can prune them. Loph likes being constricted to point the main root ( depends on Loph phentotype) are growing slow and thick, and they also like alot more grit. Pumice is all around best, 50 to 75% is what i use. I have actually moved to 90% rock based mix and having the best long term results.
You can use pure potting soil or ‘cacti mix’ which can grow Loph faster, but with the poor thin long roots you will find your specimens will die of all kinds of issues.

Word. Way too organic. But goodluck. Yes add way more pumice and perlite if you can.
